30 Weeks!!!…

Hey there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  To me it feels like today should be Thursday.  This week is dragging badly.  I’m not quite sure why but it is.  Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far.  It’s going to be in the 90’s.  I’m glad that I will be in air conditioning for the most part today.  It’s going to be hard to get through this summer with the heat.  I’m hoping there won’t be too many 90 degrees and above days.  If there are, I really am going to need to get a bathing suit.  I think I should probably check the clearance racks just in case.

Anyway, this week I am 30 Weeks!  It’s hard to believe that there are only 10 weeks until my due date!  That is exciting!  Let’s get started!

Fun Facts About the Baby At 30 Weeks

  • Baby is about 15.7 inches long now and weighs almost 3 pound.
  • A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will shrink as she gets bigger and takes up more room in the uterus.
  • Her eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after she’s born, she’ll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face.  (Normal adult vision is 20/20).

How far along? 30 Weeks & 4 Days

Baby’s size? A large cabbage

Stretch marks? No, knock on wood.

Sleep: I’m pretty sure I went through a growth spurt over the weekend so now it’s even harder to get comfortable in bed.  I’ve been trying to use pillows but they aren’t really helping.  I find that I wake up more throughout the night to use the bathroom.  I feel her moving around more at night but mostly when I move or get up because I guess I wake her up.

Best moment this week: Getting my first comment in public about being pregnant, and sending out baby shower invitations.

Miss Anything?  I would like an ice-cold frozen drink.  Luckily, they make non-alcoholic versions of this so I might need to get one to cool off.

Movement: I feel a lot more movement now and it’s very strong.  Sometimes if I press on my stomach, she will press back at me in the same spot.  I think that is so cute.  I can watch her move from the outside of my stomach which is interesting.  She is very active during the day.

Food cravings: Cheese, Decaf Iced Coffee, Watermelon, Ice Cream, Fried Chicken, Sushi, Peaches, Nectarines, Fried Rice

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I’m not really hungry in the mornings when I get up.  I find myself feeling a little nauseous but I force myself to eat breakfast because I know that I need to.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!

Symptoms: Round ligament pain, tired, breakouts on my face/body, heartburn, charlie horses in my legs/feet, indigestion, swollen feet, back pain, pains in my leg, breast leakage (using nursing pads), itchy skin, greasy hair, heavy stomach, pains in groin area (feels like I’ve gone horseback riding for hours upon hours), stretching in my belly

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: I’m stressed.  It’s mostly about work.  I’m trying to figure things out and it’s been extremely stressful there with a lot of pressure on me.  I have a lot of decisions to make especially after the baby is born.  I find myself getting a little nervous about her being here.  We are not prepared by any means and still have a lot of items to purchase.

Looking forward to: Getting things together for the baby shower, having the furniture come in for the nursery, my OB appointment next week.  I also need to get my hair cut badly but I am waiting closer to August.

So there you have my 30 Week recap!  I have ‘popped’ in my opinion.  I think my belly looks significantly bigger as it should.  I also feel a lot of pains and I find myself starting to waddle when I walk.  I think this might be the hardest trimester for me yet.  It’s all worth it though because at the end of this, I get to hold her in my arms.  That is the best part of all.

Well have a lovely Wednesday!
