Hi there! Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend! I apologize for not posting on Friday. My event on Thursday went amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better day/evening for this event to take place. The worst part of my day was my shoe selection. I decided to wear high-heeled boots and I was running around the entire day setting up and printing thing and then clearing off things. It was NOT conducive to wearing heels. I should have known better. I cannot walk in heels. They are so uncomfortable. Next time, I will wear flats or uggs. I am so classy. I know. ;)
I really was so happy about how the event turned out. It looked beautiful and people were having a great time. That is all you can ask for. As I was standing there, I soaked in every single moment and realized I am doing what I set out to do. I am planning events and making a difference in people’s lives. I am not getting into the organization where I work or that great of detail for my privacy but I did make the right choice leaving my other job. I think that was the best decision I ever made.
I ended up getting home around 11pm and tried to sleep when I got home but I couldn’t fall asleep. Go figure. I slept about an hour or so and woke up and went to work. I was planning on leaving early anyway because of working the event so late but there was an emergency with Oliver. Melissa and I took him to his vet to get taken care of. Thankfully, he is doing better now. It is VERY scary whenever anything happens to Oliver. Melissa always keeps a very close watch on him and can usually tell when something is not right and she was 100% right. We were thinking ahead by taking him to the vet. We watched him for a while and then got lunch. We spent the rest of the afternoon just talking and hanging out. It was a really nice day.
For dinner, Mike and I had the sweet potato gnocchi from Trader Joe’s. The new packaging is so much better! We both went to bed really early because I was so tired. On Saturday, we ran some errands and then I spent the afternoon catching up on some things. We both decided we wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
We started with polenta fries!
They were delicious! They were perfectly creamy inside and crispy on the outside. Such a good appetizer! The marinara sauce was delicious as well. I would totally order this again. So good.
For my meal, I went with Chicken Madeira. The portions are so big! I am having the rest of my dinner for lunch today. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes are absolutely delicious! So good.
We couldn’t leave without having cheesecake. So we shared the Smores Cheesecake.
We couldn’t finish it so we ended up bringing the rest home and having it for dessert last night. It was really good! It had chocolate mousse inside and melted marshmallow on top. It was the perfect ending to a nice evening with my husband.
On Sunday, we woke up nice and early and went to the supermarket! Our total this time was $103 and I got it down to $23! I thought I would have been able to get it lower but that didn’t happen. I was still happy that we paid under $30 for all of those groceries.
For dinner, we used a Kraft Fresh Take package that we got for free.
The chicken was really good! I loved the melted cheese on top of it. It was nice and moist and was something I would definitely have again. It was a good ending to a weekend.
What did you do this weekend? What is your favorite kind of cheesecake?
Have a great Monday!
