Hi there! Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend! What did you do this weekend? I can’t believe it’s already Monday. This weekend went by entirely too quickly. I think that is the case all the time though. The weather this weekend was absolutely beautiful! If I could just bottle up the weather from this weekend and it keep it this way all year round I would be happy. It was breezy and cool. It was nice enough to wear a long sleeve sweater and not be hot. I loved it! The majority of this week is going to be the same way until Friday when it’s going back to 80 degrees again. Ugh! Oh well.
Anyway, let’s move on to the weekend. On Friday, Mike and I decided to go to Carrabbas for dinner since we had a $10 off coupon. We haven’t been there in a long time. They redesigned their entire menu and have some really great sounding items. They also have a wide variety of wines on their wine list. I wasn’t in the mood for wine and in an effort to keep the cost down, we both didn’t order any drinks and I am fine with that. I ordered my favorite entrée which has been brought back to the menu permanently!! I am so excited about that!
I just love the sauce that this rigatoni is cooked in and the noodles are one of my favorite shapes. So it was a great meal for not at a lot of money. The $10 off took off almost one of our entire meals. So that is always a plus when dining out!
After dinner, we decided to check out Walmart to see if I could find some items that I had coupons for. We were unsuccessful but at least we wasted some time before coming home to end the night. We finished the night off by watching the season finale of Rookie Blue. I am seriously on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened!! The bad thing about Rookie Blue is that it only goes on in the summer! So now I have to wait until the summer of 2014 for Rookie Blue to come back! That is pure torture. If you watch the show and haven’t seen the finale yet, you are missing out! Definitely watch it!!
On Saturday, it was Yom Kippur. As I have mentioned before, Mike and I do not fast to observe the holiday. I observe it in my own way and I don’t believe in fasting the entire day. So I did not partake in that. I decided that I wanted to get my nails shaped because I have been growing them out. I just wanted a manicure to get the square shape of my nails so I went over and got my nails done.
I finally went ahead and put fall nail polish back on my nails and it feels great! I am a fan of the dark colors more so than the pastel and bright ones for the spring/summer. OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark is my favorite nail polish color. It is quite dark but I love it. I like that my nails are now square shape. I’ve been trying really hard to grow them out. I’ve stopped cutting them short because I think they look more professional long. I am happy with how they turned out although they have already started chipping.
After hanging out the rest of the day, Mike and I went over to his Aunt’s house for break the fast dinner. I didn’t take any pictures of my food. I had a bagel with cream cheese, some cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes. Not the greatest dinner but it was nice to catch up with his relatives. His one cousin that lives in Wisconsin came in, so it was nice to see him and catch up with his life.
On Sunday, I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house and hung out there for a while. After we were hanging out and catching up, we went out shopping! I am so excited that some of our local supermarkets have decided to do triple coupons. My shopping trip was EPIC yesterday! My total was going to be $43 and I got it down to $14!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it! That includes fresh fruit, vegetables, almond milk, lactose-free milk, yogurt, fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts, ground chicken, gluten-free chicken tenders, and more! So you can absolutely get fresh and healthy foods by couponing and pairing it with sales. I did it myself! I was so proud!
I had a great time hanging out with Melissa and my mom. After we were done, I went home and made Mike and I dinner. I cooked chicken meatballs and made my new favorite pasta shape, Bucatini!! I love the shape of this pasta. It’s thicker than spaghetti but not like fettuccine. I really enjoy it a lot!
Dinner was great except for our choice of alfredo sauce. I was not a fan of this particular sauce but everything else was great!
Now here we are starting another week. Let’s hope for a good one folks!
Do you watch Rookie Blue? Have you ever had bucatini pasta?
Have a great Monday!
