Hi there! Happy Monday to you! I hope all of you had a great weekend!! What did you do this weekend? My weekend was quite busy. Let’s start the recap because I have a lot to discuss! I’ll start with Friday. On Friday after work, I stopped at Redbox on my way home from work to pick up a movie. I ventured over to Melissa’s house and her and I ran some errands. We picked up dinner from Corner Bakery. It actually turned out being quite disappointing. The food that I got had absolutely no flavor at all. It was a big let down for me. It was my first time trying their actual food. I’ve had their bagels and cream cheese before but never their food. I’d be willing to give it another try though.
After dinner, we watched Pitch Perfect that I rented. Melissa and I have both been wanting to watch this movie ever since it came out. I absolutely loved it! I am a huge fan for the movies that have the acapella singing groups in them. I love listening to that. Plus, I had no idea that Anna Kendrick was a singer! She has a beautiful voice! The movie was funny and quite entertaining. I think I’m going to have to add that one to my list of movies to buy. I could see myself watching it again just for the singing scenes. Oliver enjoyed himself too. He was completely planted on my body the whole night wrapped in a blanket. He is such a spoiled pup. I should have taken a picture of him. I had fun hanging out with Melissa, my mom and Oliver. It was a nice evening in.
On Saturday, I was actually able to sleep in! I slept in until after 9. I probably would have been able to keep sleeping but of course the people above us can never be quiet. I’m convinced they are vampires because I constantly hear them walking or running around at all hours of the night. I don’t know about you, but I need my sleep. I guess some people don’t. I spent the rest of the day being lazy. Mike and I watched some dvr shows and then I finally decided to get ready to go to Mike’s tennis match. His match didn’t go so well. I felt bad for him. It seemed like everyone on his team was just having an “off” night. He will win next time though for sure! We grabbed dinner at Ruby Tuesday because we had a really good coupon to use. I didn’t bother taking pictures.
Yesterday, I was invited to attend the 2013 Philadelphia Auto Show! Mike really wanted to go as well so this was the perfect opportunity for us to see the new cars. Mike is a huge car enthusiast so he was definitely in his element yesterday. We decided to take the train down to Philly so we didn’t have to deal with the traffic or pay for gas/parking.
The Philadelphia Car show runs from January 19th through the 27th! Definitely check it out if you get the chance! Here are some scenes from us exploring the show!
One of the best parts of the Auto Show for me was taking the trip in the Jeep Experience! You were able to sit in a Jeep vehicle and they drove you through different obstacles that a Jeep can handle! It was super cool and I highly recommend trying it out if you are going to the car show!
We both had so much fun at the car show! I think this was one of the best car shows that I’ve attended. There was so much to see. It was crowded but not as crowded as I expected it to be. Thank you so much for allowing me to attend as a guest! I really had a wonderful time!
After enjoying ourselves at the show, I had the opportunity to try out Maggiano’s for dinner again. Since we didn’t enjoy our last experience, we were invited back. I was super excited to try it out again!
Our waitress was one of the friendliest people I have ever met! She had so much personality and really made our experience wonderful. She refilled our drinks as soon as they got low. She was very attentive and made us feel at home. We decided to try out their Marco’s Meal deal that they have going on right now. It’s a three course meal plus you each pick out an entree to bring home! So you get an appetizer, your meal, and dessert to share plus two other meals to bring home with you! We thought this was an incredible deal and we had to take advantage of it!
For our appetizer, we decided on Stuffed Mushrooms (Jumbo mushroom caps stuffed with spinach and topped with seasoned breadcrumbs, served in a garlic white wine sauce).
We loved these mushrooms! I am a huge fan of portobella mushrooms so I was in heaven. I love how spinach and garlic taste together and the breadcrumbs tied everything together. It was so good. I would definitely order this again!
For Mike’s meal, he ordered Fettuccine Alfredo and added chicken (Fettuccine tossed with garlic in an Asiago cream sauce).
For my meal, I ordered the Four-Cheese Ravioli (Ravioli stuffed with Ricotta cheese, cream cheese, mozzarella and Provolone. Served in a pesto-alfredo cream sauce with a touch of marinara).
Mike and I both loved our dinners! The sauce on my pasta was amazing! It was alfredo and pesto together. I thought it was so good! We both couldn’t finish our dinners so we brought them home. For the two other meals we decided to bring home, Mike brought home spaghetti with meatballs and I brought home Bowtie Aglio (Farfalle pasta with broccolini, fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and grated parmesan). Needless to say, we have a ton of food to eat this week!
Our meal wasn’t over yet! We got to choose a dessert. We decided on Tiramisu!
As you can tell, we both hated it!
We both really enjoyed ourselves at Maggiano’s! It was such a better experience this time. They really took care of us at the restaurant and made sure everything was perfect! The waitress also mentioned to us that for Valentine’s Day, they typically do the Marco’s meal but add additional food items and even wine. So be sure to look for details on that at your local Maggiano’s. I wouldn’t mind doing that for Valentine’s Day! Thank you so much, Maggiano’s for your hospitality!
Have you ever been to a car show? What is your favorite kind of car? Have you ever been to Maggiano’s?
Have a great Monday!
