Hi there! Happy Friday to you!! We made it through our first full week of work since the holidays. It’s been rough but at least we got through it. Well, I got through it. I hope all of you did too! I’m looking forward to this weekend. My mom’s birthday is on Sunday so I am definitely excited to celebrate! Who doesn’t love birthday’s and birthday cake?! I know I do! Yay! What are you doing this weekend?
Today is another edition of Fun Finds Friday! For this edition, I wanted to focus on some new finds that I have seen at various restaurants. I haven’t necessarily tried any of these items at these restaurants but I have seen advertising for them and wanted to feature them on Fun Finds Friday. Let’s get started!
First up is, Red Lobster. Red Lobster has introduced a Main Stays Menu.
There are 15 items on the menu and they are all under $15. Most of the items are rather healthy. The items are: Tilapia with Roasted Vegetables, Wood-Grilled Chicken with Portobello Wine Sauce, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Bar Harbor Salad with Shrimp or Salmon, Blue Cheese Sirloin, Tilapia with Pineapple Salsa (1/2 portion), Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Alfredo, Caesar Salad Salmon, Chesapeake Shrimp with Crab, Wood-Grilled Pork Chops, Roasted Vegetable Skewers, Tropical BBQ Glazed Chicken, RL Cobb Salad with Shrimp, Salmon, or Chicken, Tilapia with Lemon Butter (1/2-portion), Bar Harbor Salad with Chicken.
As you can see Red Lobster is trying to make their restaurant more appealing to people who don’t necessarily enjoy eating seafood. I appreciate that. Although I do love most seafood, I do like that they are reaching out to those who don’t.
The next restaurant is Olive Garden. Olive Garden has introduced a Lighter Fare Menu.
Their new menu items are all under 575 calories. The items on the menu are the following: Venetian Apricot Chicken, Herb-Grilled Salmon, Linguine alla Marinara, Seafood Brodetto, and Lasagna Primavera with Grilled Chicken.
I like that the Olive Garden started this new Lighter Fare Menu. If you ever happened to browse the nutritional stats on their website you can see the that their food isn’t the healthiest at all. So it’s nice that they offer this menu to those who want to eat healthier or may have dietary restrictions. I like that especially since I am and always have been a fan of Olive Garden. Who doesn’t love their salad dressing and breadsticks? Yum!
Another restaurant that has new items is Panera Bread. Panera Bread has launched new “Hidden Menu” items. The only way that you can order these is if you tell one of the associates that you would like to order from the Hidden Menu and they will take care of it from there. I found out about this by being a member of My Panera, which is their rewards program.
The items for breakfast on this menu are: Power Breakfast Egg White Bowl with Roasted Turkey (Roasted all-natural, Antibiotic-free turkey, egg whites, warm baby spinach, roasted peppers, and basil Pesto), and Power Breakfast Egg Bowl with Steak (Two all-natural eggs, seared top sirloin, sliced avocado & tomatoes).
For lunch/dinner the items are: Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad (All-natural, Antibiotic-free chicken, baby spinach, romaine, tomatoes, apple-wood smoked bacon, diced eggs, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil), Power Mediterranean Roasted Turkey Salad (All-natural, Antibiotic-free roasted turkey, baby spinach, romaine, tomatoes, red onions, kalamata olives, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil), Power Chicken Hummus Bowl (All-natural, Antibiotic-free chicken, with cilantro jalapeno hummus, baby spinach, cucumbers, diced tomatoes & red onions finished with fresh squeezed lemon & fresh chopped cilantro), and Power Steak Lettuce Wraps (Seared top-sirloin, leaf lettuce, cucumbers, diced tomatoes & red onions, basil pesto and finished with fresh lemon juice).
On their regular menu, they have a new salad: Spinach Power Salad (Try our new Spinach Power Salad with fresh baby spinach, roasted mushrooms and onion blend, diced egg, Applewood-smoked bacon, frizzled onions & smoky Vidalia onion vinaigrette).
I think it’s pretty neat that Panera has a hidden menu. I had never heard about this before. I would definitely like to try their Power Chicken Hummus Bowl. I think it sounds delicious! I am a big fan of hummus.
Another restaurant that has new menu features is Bob Evans. They have a special menu called Fit From the Farm and all items on this menu are 650 calories or less, have 0 trans fat, and no MSG.
Some items from this menu include: Apple Cranberry Spinach Salad, Fresh Fruit Plate, Grilled Chicken Breast, Grilled Salmon Fillet, Potato Crusted Flounder, Turkey Sausage Breakfast, Veggie Omelet, and Be Fit Breakfast.
I love breakfast food, which is no surprise to anyone who reads my blog so I would definitely like to try some of these breakfast items from the new menu. I have always liked going to Bob Evans for breakfast.
The next restaurant with a new item is Dunkin’ Donuts. They have introduced a new breakfast sandwich which I hear is only available right now on the East Coast. I’m not positive on that but that is what I have heard. It is their new Turkey Sausage Breakfast Sandwich.
My mom has tried it and said that it tastes great! I am not a huge fan of sausage but I’d be willing to try this sandwich since it’s made with turkey sausage. I love breakfast sandwiches. They are so comforting to me.
The last restaurant that I have found with some new menu items is the Melting Pot. They have come out with a Skinny Dipping menu. The entire menu features items that are under 700 calories.
The menu includes three courses to choose from: Cheese, Entrée and Dessert. There is also a special cocktail menu that contains drinks all under 160 calories using Voli Vodka.
I am a fan of the Melting Pot. I haven’t been there in a very long time because it’s rather pricy. I would like to try some of the new menu items and the cocktails. I wouldn’t mind getting the chance to meet Pitbull either. Hah.
So there you have it! Some new restaurant items that I have compiled for you. Have you tried any of these new items? Any that you would like to try? Have you seen any other new restaurant items that I should feature another time?
