Hi there! Happy Wednesday to you! I’m glad that this week is going by somewhat fast. I am feeling extremely tired and not having very good issues with my stomach this week. So I would really like to take the weekend to relax. It was really nice being able to spend time with Mike at home last night since he was away on business for four days. We were finally able to see each other in daylight. He came home really late on Monday night and I was half asleep when we were saying hello. So I was thankful that we were able to spend time together. You don’t realize how much you truly miss someone until they are gone. I have a hard time sleeping now when he is not home. I think it’s because I’ve gotten so used to sleeping next to someone for over two years that when I’m alone, it’s a really strange feeling. I feel like I can sleep better when he is there next to me.
He went to Orlando, Florida for his trip. I have to say I was very jealous because he was right outside the gates of my favorite place in the entire universe, Disney World! He didn’t have time to go there because he was so busy with work. I would love to get back there sometime soon. I miss it! Mike brought me home my favorite coconut patties from Florida!
Whenever I go to Florida, I either need to pick up a package of these coconut patties or get Mickey mints! If you haven’t had these:
They are Mickey Mouse mints in a box that looks like Mickey money, you are missing out! I had never had them before and my old co-worker, Jane, who has since retired introduced me to them! She is a Disney fanatic like me and she would always bring me something back when she would visit and she brought me those Mickey mints one year and I was hooked! So I always have to either get those or coconut patties when visiting Florida. Is there something that you always need to bring home with you when you visit a certain place?
I get like that with other places too. For example, when I go to Atlantic City, I usually need to come home with salt water taffy’s or fresh, and hot peanuts in the shell. That was thing that my dad and I would always do! When my family and I went to Atlantic City, before going home, my dad and I would pick up those peanuts. The entire car ride home, him and I could polish off an entire bag! It was funny because for my dad’s birthday this year, Melissa and I got him those peanuts as part of his gift! It was a hit.
I love thinking back to memories like that and how certain places remind me of certain things. Anyway, I’ll get back to last night. For dinner, we had somewhat of a Thanksgiving dinner in January. There is nothing wrong with that, in my opinion! I had some coupons for Hormel products so I decided to try their Simple Ideas Sliced Turkey Breast & Gravy.
I also had a coupon for one of their Simple Ideas side dishes so I picked up mashed potatoes.
To prepare the turkey, all you have to do is microwave it and for the mashed potatoes, I just heated them on the stove. I also made some stuffing and roasted veggies to serve along with it.
Although the turkey was oddly shaped, it was surprisingly pretty good. It only had 4 pieces of turkey in the container. Would I buy it again? Probably not. I think I can get more for my money if I buy something fresh. The mashed potatoes were just okay. I am picky with mashed potatoes and these were not my favorite. I have to say the best part of the meal for me was the stuffing and veggies. I mean how can you go wrong with either of those?
After dinner we relaxed and watched Pretty Little Liars and Revenge. I was glad to have those two shows back in my life. I guess if you can’t tell, I love tv. It’s bad. I don’t know how it started but I watch way too many tv shows. Oh well. It keeps me entertained!
Alright, well have a lovely Wednesday! See you tomorrow!
