Hi there! Happy Friday to you! I apologize for falling off the face of the earth yesterday. I actually took off from work to go to a new doctor for my stomach. So I didn’t exactly fall off the face of the earth. I was just busy. Melissa went with me to my appointment. We traveled to South Jersey to go to an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center that I had found at a hospital there. I was willing to drive anywhere to see the best doctor that I could possibly find. This doctor happens to be one of the founders of the entire department and was written up on the Crohns & Colitis Foundation website. So I knew that he must be good at what he does. I was seen by him and a fellow student. They both went through every single file, and every single paper and record that I had brought with me. That impressed me right off the bat. They even underlined important information. It really seemed like they both genuinely cared about my well-being. I have yet to see that in any of the gastrointestinal doctors I have gone to.
I now have a plan. In 3 weeks, I am going to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy performed at the same time. I am not happy about having a colonoscopy again but if it is going to help me then I am willing to do it. I never had an endoscopy. They are hoping to see where the inflammation is located now and if there is anything else going on in my intestines and stomach that was not seen before. I am hoping and praying that we get a solid answer after all of this and that I can finally take medication and know what to eat that will help me. I really think this doctor finally knows what he is doing. So only time will tell. That is my doctor and health news.
Going back to Wednesday. On Wednesday night, Mike and I decided to go to Red Robin for dinner. We started our meal off with their new pretzel bites that they have for Oktoberfest.
They were really good! I liked them a lot. They came with a beer-cheese dip and a spicy mustard dip. Both were pretty tasty.
For my meal, I ordered a cheeseburger but with a turkey burger instead of beef.
I love Red Robin. Their french fries are the best! I love the fact that they are bottomless too. That makes it even better!
Now going back to Thursday, after my doctor’s appointment, Melissa and I ate lunch at Whole Foods. I don’t have a picture but the Whole Foods by the doctor’s office was really nice. They had more items at their hot bar then most Whole Foods that we’ve been to. It was great! After, we went to a local farm to see if we could pick apples but sadly they had none! What the heck! I guess we will have to go to another farm sometime next week or something. We usually pick apples every year and this year we haven’t yet. I miss that.
When I got home, Mike offered to make dinner. I decided that I wanted something gentle for my stomach. So I went with breakfast food. This is where my new obsession started! Over the weekend, at the supermarket we grabbed a pack of Thomas Pumpkin Spice English Muffins that we saw on sale.
I’ve had their pumpkin bagels many times and loved them. So I knew I was probably going to love the english muffins too but I didn’t realize how much! They were INCREDIBLE! I’m telling you, run, don’t walk to the supermarket and buy these things before they are gone!! They are amazing! They had just the right amount of pumpkin flavor packed into an english muffin! I need to get more of these before they are taken off the shelf. I’m in love!!!! What is your favorite pumpkin product?
I probably could have eaten the entire package of english muffins, they were that good! I had mine lightly toasted with some Earth Balance “butter” on it. It was fabulous! You must pick these up if you are a pumpkin fanatic like myself!
So what are you doing this weekend? Mike and I are going to visit our friend’s Russ & Kristen tomorrow! I’m so excited! We haven’t seen them in a little while and I’m looking forward to spending the day with them and their daughter Kyleigh. Yay!!! We are going to travel around Lancaster and take in all the sights. I’m pretty excited to see what it looks like in the fall.
Alright, well have a lovely Friday and a great weekend!
