Wedding Recap: Before The Reception!…

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  It’s only fitting that today is Wednesday because I used to do Wedding Talk Wednesday as we were planning our wedding.  I have another recap of our wedding today for you!  Before I get to that,  today is actually 2 months that Mike and I have been married.  I can hardly believe that it’s been 2 months already!  They have flown by so incredibly fast.  When I look at our wedding pictures and video, it makes me feel like I wasn’t even there.  It feels like an out-of-body experience.  I can’t explain it but it’s strange.  It’s also weird to think that we were honeymooning in Antigua over a month ago.  That is just crazy to me.  I have a few more recaps of our actual wedding left and then I will get to recapping our honeymoon.  I’m so excited to share everything with all of you.  I hope you are enjoying these recaps as much as I am enjoying reliving each moment.

In the last recap, I left off at our wedding ceremony.  When the ceremony was over, that was when the bridal party and our families took pictures.  We did this during the cocktail hour since we didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony.  Our bridal party was able to enjoy some of the cocktail hour.  I was glad that they didn’t end up missing the entire thing.  However, Mike and I did miss our entire cocktail hour.

I forgot to mention in our ceremony, that we had a string trio that played the music for that.  Then for the cocktail hour, we had strings and a piano playing jazzy, Frank Sinatra, big band standards.  I was so excited for that!  Unfortunately, I didn’t get to hear any of it but I think it sounded great.  We did see people enjoying themselves during our cocktail hour so that is a good thing.  I had a few things that I did myself that were put out during the cocktail hour but I will recap that in a post of all of our wedding details.

These pictures that you are going to see were all taken on the golf course at the country club where we were married.  The golf course made for beautiful pictures.

The country club wrote “I Do” in the sand. I love it!

Those are just a few of my favorite pictures that were taken in-between our ceremony and reception.  We took a ton but these are just a few of the ones that stand out to me.  In case you were wondering why I have 2 other siblings besides Melissa, they are our half-siblings.  I think I have mentioned that before in the past.  Our Dad had 2 children from a previous marriage and those are our two half-siblings, Gennifer and Josh.  They are a lot older than both of us and we don’t see them all that often.  This picture of the four of us was the first picture that we have all taken in about 15 or more years!  I was so happy that we were able to take an updated picture and I love it.

It was surreal taking pictures and spending those moments with our friends and families.  During these pictures, I was taking in each and every moment.  Thinking to myself, we are surrounded by those who love and support us right now.  We are lucky.  I also felt much more relaxed at this point because I knew we were going into our reception and were going to have a great time.  The only thing that I think Mike and I were both nervous for was our first dance.  Once we got through that, I think we could get through anything.

I still find myself getting emotional and missing planning our wedding when I look at these pictures.  I put so much time and effort into every single detail and I am really proud at how everything turned out.  I couldn’t have asked for a better day.  I will be recapping details of certain things that I have shown or haven’t shown yet.  The next recap will be of our reception.  I’m excited to share that with all of you.  I hope you are enjoying my recaps as much as I am enjoying sharing them with all of you.

Have a lovely Wednesday!
