Marrige License & Weekend Recap…

Hi there!  Happy Monday to you!  I apologize for not posting since Thursday.  I’ve been quite busy since Thursday night trying to get things together.  It’s been crazy and it’s only going to get more crazy I can assume.  I hope you had a lovely weekend!  What did you do this weekend?  These storms we’ve been having lately have been crazy!  I am so sick of the torrential downpours.  I hope that if it’s going to rain that it just continues for this week and stops for next week.  I do not want rain on our wedding day!  I feel like that would put a big damper on things especially pictures wise.  Our ceremony and everything else would be alright but not for pictures.  I wanted to do outdoor pictures.  So please keep your fingers crossed that the rain holds out for next week.

So I can’t remember what I did on Thursday.  My mind is completely blanking out for some reason.  So I’ll skip to Friday.  On Friday, Mike and I both took off from work so that we could get our marriage license!  We both didn’t know what to expect.  All we needed was our driver’s license which was easy enough.  They asked us both questions about our parents.  Then they asked us to raise our right hand and say if we’ve been married before, if we are related of if we have any transmissible diseases.  So that was easy enough!  Before we knew it, we had our marriage license in hand and we were on our way!  So technically now, we are married.  I was so happy once we got our license.  It feels like a weight has been lifted and the one major thing that we needed to do is now done.

After that, we celebrated by getting Subway.  My sandwich was boring, just turkey on bread so no photos of that.  After lunch, we went to the restaurant where we are having our rehearsal dinner.  We finalized some details and picked out our menu.  We are going simple and having simple food and no alcohol.  It’s really expensive to add alcohol and since Mike and I are paying for our entire wedding and the rehearsal, we need to cut corners places.  We figure people will be drinking enough at our top shelf open bar, the next day.  I’d prefer if people weren’t drinking heavily the night before our wedding.  So that is our reasoning behind that.

When we were done there, we went to our venue to finalize some more items.  The banquet manager there has been really great lately!  I’m so thankful for that. We are on the same page and everything is moving smoothly.  Whew.  I am very happy about that!

When we were done, we went home and made dinner. We wanted to make pesto sauce from scratch but the supermarket had no basil.  What the hell?  How does a supermarket have no basil?  I don’t get it.  So we got jarred and roasted some mushrooms, and green beans and served it with apple chicken sausage.

Our dinner..

After dinner, we went to Mike’s parents house for a little while to talk over some wedding details and whatnot.  We finally got home and both of us were exhausted.  It was a long day.

On Saturday , Mike and I woke up early again and ran some errands for our honeymoon.  Then I picked up Melissa and her and I went to a Yankee Candle Preview party.  We got to smell new fall scents!  I love pumpkin scented candles.  Yum!  We also stopped at the mall for a bit and then we went back to my house.  I changed and then we picked up dinner from Bertucci’s.  I ordered Chicken Marsala.

My dinner

After dinner, Melissa and I went to her friend’s graduation party.  She just graduated from grad school.  It was so cute.  She had a tent with lights inside and a ton of desserts.  It was nice to finally meet Melissa’s friend who I have heard so much about.  Her dad made the most amazing Sangria, I have ever tasted!  It was nice to go out and do something fun and relieve stress!  When we left the party, we ran some errands and then stopped at Fridays for a cocktail.  I got a really good strawberry drink. I don’t know what it was called but it was very expensive. I think it will be my first and last time drinking that.  I hate how drinks are super expensive.  It’s ridiculous.  I had a fun night hanging out with Melissa.

On Sunday, Mike and I did wedding stuff at home and then ran to the supermarket.  We decided to have pasta with vodka sauce.  My belly was not happy about that.  I am now going to stay away from tomato based sauces and things. I just cannot handle it.  I don’t know why I continue to torture myself.  We also made chicken meatballs which tasted fantastic!

Dinner

Now here we are on Monday.  This my last full week of work before our wedding and honeymoon.  So I definitely have a ton of stuff to get done!  I like when I’m super busy.  It makes the day go by quick.  I’m also looking forward to tonight!  Melissa won tickets to a secret concert in Philly sponsored by our favorite wine!  We are super excited for tonight!  I cannot wait!

Have a great Monday!

  1. Glad to see you’re doing the bland, meat and potatoes diet… your belly will appreciate it!

  2. Ah, so exciting about the marriage license! How surreal did it feel to finally have it in your hand? Also surreal – you know who from the venue being so cooperative :P I’m so glad that everything’s falling into place!

    • It was crazy! It didn’t feel like it was really happening. It was definitely a very happy moment in both of our lives. It was one that we have waited a long time for. :) Haha! I know! She did a complete 180! I’m really liking this new side of her! Let’s hope it stays this way.
