Wedding Talk Wednesday: Our Wedding Invitations!…

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  I’m loving that the weather this week is not nearly as bad as it was last week.  The mornings are actually quite nice.  It’s not too hot or humid.  I’m liking it.  I don’t think it’s going to stay this way though. I believe it’s going to go back up into the 90′s by the weekend.  Oh well.  At least a break is nice.  It’s better than nothing!  That is for sure.

So our wedding related things are coming along quite nicely.  I still keep putting off getting our programs together.  I don’t know why I am making such a big deal about making them.  I first need to compose them.  Then I have to send them to our Rabbi to make sure I included everything and I listed our ceremony in the correct order.  Then I have to send them to the graphic designer so that she can design a program and send us ideas that she has and then I can get them printed.  I still need to get a bunch of things printed and then put them together.  I am slowly starting to do that.

I have everything that I need for the bridesmaids gifts now.  I just have to put them together.  I think they are going to love them!  I’m excited.  Mike’s wedding gift is coming along nicely!  Everything is working out the way that I had planned.  He ordered his wedding band the other night and it’s already shipped.  I cannot wait to see it!  Then we just need to figure out where he is going to get it engraved.  We are both having something engraved inside of our wedding bands.  It’s the same thing on both of our bands.  I will definitely do a post on this after our wedding.

We have been getting lots of RSVP’s to our wedding coming in!  So far every single one has been that they are coming.  I’m impressed!  I wanted to share our wedding invitations with you today.  I am very proud of them and I have worked extremely hard on them with our graphic designer.  I will give you a background story on them and then I will show you the final product.

When I first started thing about wedding stationary and invitations, I had somewhat of idea in my head of what I wanted. I know that I wanted us to have a Pocketfold Invitation.  I had my heart set on those.  Those are very expensive.  I knew there had to be a cheaper way to go about it.  That was when I found our incredible graphic designer.  I knew that she would be able to make this possible for a fraction of the cost.  I will definitely do a post on her as well, after our wedding.  She designs all of the graphics and then sends me the final files and I do what I want with them.  She has been amazing to work with!  She is truly so talented and reasonably priced for what she does.  We have only communicated through email but she has really helped me with ideas a lot.

She sent us a bunch of ideas and Mike and I decided on one.  Then I went to an online store that sells the paper supplies and ordered everything through the website and also had them print our invitations.  That had to be one of the most stressful weeks when I was doing this.  It was extremely time-consuming and I was praying that everything would look good together and thankfully, everything turned out great.  So without further adieu, I present our wedding invitations….

The outside of the pocketfold invitation with our wedding monogram on the belly band. The purple envelope is what the invitation was mailed in. The monogram will be seen throughout our entire wedding.

Our invitation..I have blurred out private details such as our last name, the time of our wedding and the venue to respect our privacy.

The inserts. There is the RSVP card (which also had a purple envelope that I didn’t put together for this pictures, sorry!), Accommodations information, and Map & Directions to our venue.

So those are our invitations!  I am so proud of how they look and they are exactly what I was looking for and what I wanted to send out to set the tone of our wedding!  I came up with the wording on the invitation myself.  Does anyone know where the quote, “Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale” is from?  I’ll give you a hint, it’s Disney related!  I wanted to throw aspects of Disney throughout our wedding in various spots because that is where we were originally going to get married.  So rather than just throw Disney out the window and because I am so passionate about it, I have added it in random parts throughout our wedding.  It’s just subtle hints of it but I’m hoping people will notice.

I’m so glad that I was able to finally show all of you what I have been working on for the past couple of months!  What type of invitation do you want for your wedding or if you are married, what type of invitation did you have?

Alright, so there are 5 Wednesdays left before our wedding!  Crazy to think that!  Have a great Wednesday!

  3. The invitations are BEAUTIFUL! The colors are so striking together and the Disney quote is such a sweet, poignant addition. It’s really special how you’re incorporating those Disney touches throughout — kind of like an added touch of magic as your own fairy tale begins :)

    • Thank you SO much!! :) I completely agree! I wanted to add a splash of Disney in different places to see if anyone noticed. It’s actually a quote from Cinderella. :)

  4. LOVE!!!!!! Please keep the name of that GD in case I ever get married…those look awesome and are what I would want too (love pocket folds : ) Should I ever plan a wedding you’ll have to help me with that!

    • Thank you so much! :) I most definitely will save her name. I’m planning on doing a post about her so you will have all of her information in case you ever want to use her. :) I most definitely will help you with anything you need! I promise :)

  8. [...] If you look in the distance in that picture above you will see the table numbers sitting in a frame.  I purchased the frames from Ikea and they were originally white.  Mike and I spray painted every single frame silver with sparkles.  This was the most time-consuming project of our entire wedding.  We spent many hours in the garage spray painting each frame and going over every side to make sure it was even.  In the end, it was worth it because it looked beautiful and people thought the frames were bought that way.  I highly recommend the Tolsby frames from Ikea.  They are cheap, durable and you can spray paint them any color you want.  The graphics that you will be seeing including the table number graphic was made from our graphic designer who also designed our wedding invitations.
