Happy National Donut Day & Dress Success Story!…

Hi there!  Happy Friday but more importantly..Happy National Donut Day!

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE donuts!  I have loved them ever since I was little girl.  There is something about a donut that just makes everything better!  Do you like donuts?  What is your favorite?  I love glazed, chocolate glazed, vanilla frosted, creme filled, and peanut butter donuts.  Yum!

Krispy Kreme is actually giving out a free donut of any variety with no purchase necessary today!

Dunkin’ Donuts is giving a free donut with a purchase of any Dunkin’ beverage.

I can’t remember the last time I had a Krispy Kreme donut.  I might need to stop there at some point today just to take advantage of this free donut!  I cannot resist free!

Anyway, I thought I would first inform all of you of such a great holiday today!  So let’s get back to our regular scheduled programming, shall we?  So after work yesterday, I went with my co-worker/bridesmaid, Tarra to a local bra shop.  I need a good strapless bra to wear underneath my wedding gown.  She has said good things about this store and it wasn’t too far from work so I decided to go there and see what the deal is.  Well the woman who came in the fitting room with me made me feel so bad about myself.  I have never felt so worthless.  I’m sorry I don’t have a huge chest!  It’s not my fault.  She didn’t need to be so rude to me about it.  It seems like that store caters to women who are large busted.  Needless to say, I didn’t purchase anything from there and will continue to look elsewhere.  I don’t need to be or deserve to be insulted over a bra size.  Seriously, how rude!  I was hoping that experience wasn’t going to set the tone for the rest of the evening.

After driving through a ton of traffic, we finally made it to David’s Bridal.  I received an email that my wedding gown finally came in!  If you haven’t read my past posts, when I went to pick up my gown it looked as though a cat had scratched the entire gown!  It was beyond the point of being a mess!  I couldn’t believe they thought I would actually take that home with me or even wear such a thing!  No way!  So I was a nervous mess going back there to see this dress.

They handed me the dress in the garment bag and I went into the dressing room.  I slowly unzipped the bag and I felt like I was having heart palpitations.  Tarra and I stood there and examined the entire dress.  It was perfect!  I said before I start getting too excited, let me try this on and make sure that it fits and it’s perfect the way it should be.  So I put the dress on and it really was perfect!  Everything was the way it was supposed to be.  I can’t even tell you how much of a relief this feels to me!  I felt like I could breathe.  I felt so good standing there in my dress.  It made me excited of how close it will be until I can wear it for real.  So now I am all set for alterations once I find a strapless bra!  I’m excited!  My dress is now resting comfortably in my mom’s closet where it should have been months ago.  I am so happy about that!

Next, I tried on the bridesmaid dress for Tarra’s wedding.  We are both in each other’s weddings which are a month apart.  I was able to order that dress and it’s supposed to come in while Mike and I are on our honeymoon.  So she said she would pick it up for me.  I’m glad that all of that is taken care of!  I feel so relieved!

Once we left the store, we were getting hungry for dinner.  So we decided to eat at Pizzeria Uno.  I ordered Shrimp & Lobster Scampi pasta.  I thought that would be gentle enough on my stomach.

My dinner

I ordered the small portion and it was pretty big!  I can only imagine what the normal size looks like!  How much pasta can one person actually eat?  I loved this dish though.  It was so good!  I am a huge fan of seafood and lobster.  I like how light it is and you can really flavor it anyway you want to.  I cannot wait to eat fresh seafood on our honeymoon.  I’m looking forward to the lobster tail.  Yum.

When dinner was over, we went our separate ways and I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house.  Melissa and I relaxed and talked for a while.  Oliver was going crazy licking me!  I don’t know what his deal was last night.  He acted like he hasn’t seen me in months.  It’s only been a few days!  What a silly pup!  I’m looking forward to hanging out with Melissa tonight.  It should be fun!

What are your plans for this weekend?  Have a great Friday!!

  1. YAY, so glad the dress was right this time! What a rush of relief you must’ve felt. See? The flowers were the turning of the tide! :)

No big plans for Saturday or Sunday, but I’m going to see Kristin Chenoweth at the Academy of Music tonight and am SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED!
