Hi there! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! What did you do this weekend? I apologize for disappearing on Friday. I didn’t really have much to say or much going on so I decided to skip posting on Friday. I don’t want my blog to start turning into me complaining or rambling on about nothing. So on days when I have nothing important to say, I think I’m going to skip blogging. I want to keep it interesting in on here and I don’t want it to just be complaints and whatnot. So with that said, let’s recap my weekend, shall we?
On Friday, after work, I picked up Oliver and brought him to our house for a little bit. Melissa and my mom both had to work late so I went over to take him out and to give him dinner. He was so incredibly hyper and out of control! He stayed at our house for a little while and then I decided to bring him home. He was going crazy and making me feel so much anxiety because we still have so many shower gifts all over the house. I didn’t want him ruining them and I was trying to keep him out of our second bedroom where all of our wedding stuff is. He was just acting crazy. So we dropped him off at home.
Mike and I decided to grab dinner. I forgot to take a picture but I ended up getting fettuccine with chicken and spinach tossed in butter. It was actually pretty good! For dessert, I decided to get Rita’s since there was one near the restaurant. I wanted to try their new peanut butter and jelly water ice! I was glad that I did! I got a gelati which is a layer of custard, then water ice, then custard then water ice and topped with custard. It’s fabulous!

I loved the peanut butter and jelly water ice! It was so good and it really did taste like peanut butter! All of you local girls out there, definitely try it! You will love it!!! I cannot wait to go back and have it again. I also want to try the Red Velvet. That sounds like it will be good too!
The rest of the night I spent watching the DVR. I actually got through a ton of stuff. I was proud of myself. It drives me crazy once I start hitting like 85%. Do you have a DVR? I seriously couldn’t live without it. It makes my life easier for sure.
On Saturday, I woke up early and took my car over for an oil change. When I was done, Mike and I went to the mall. I had a dress to return to Express. In exchange for it, I ended up getting a pair of jeans, a sparkly white tank top, and a cute pair of gray shorts to pair with high heels. I will definitely post pictures maybe on Wednesday or something. I love the sparkly tank top. I really want to get another one. I love sparkly things as does I think every girl.
When we were done shopping, we came home and made pizza for dinner. Once again, I forgot to take pictures. Sorry! When we were done eating, I got ready and we were off to the Lady Antebellum concert! Mike bought us tickets for my birthday. I absolutely LOVE Lady Antebellum! They are by far my favorite band. I just love their music. The song lyrics are really great and you can relate to almost all of their songs. I am in love with the lead singer Hillary’s voice. It’s so beautiful! The other lead guy’s voice is great too. I love how they sound when they sing and harmonize together. Now that is beautiful music!
The concert opened up with a group called Thompson Square. I had never heard of them before. We actually got to the concert a little late. So we only saw them perform one or two songs. They sounded good. I just had no clue who they were. After they were done Darius Rucker came on. For those of you who might not know who he is, he was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. Never in a million years did I think I would hear the songs, “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Only Want to Be With You” be performed live. It was crazy. Most of the younger kids had no clue about those songs because they were out in the early 90′s. I think it was pretty cool to hear him sing them live. He does have a good voice and sounded exactly like the recordings.
It was finally time for Lady Antebellum to come out on stage! They opened their concert with “We Own The Night.” That just happens to be the name of the tour.
They sang all of their singles and sang various songs off their old and new album. I loved it! They are super talented and sounded even better performing live in person! I am so glad that I got the chance to see the perform live. I really LOVE their music! Fun fact about the band. Hillary got married 4 months ago to the drummer in the band. They are so cute together! She also auditioned for American Idol and was rejected! I wonder what they think now about that?! She is doing pretty well for herself!
They said that this concert was the first sold out concert of their entire tour! I felt lucky to have the chance to be there with them on their special night. It was packed in there! The worst part of the night was the fact that it took us 2 hours to get home! 2 hours!!!!! It was because we had to park in a parking garage so it was awful trying to get out. Then the concert was in Camden, NJ. Cops shut down the entire city and there was only one way out. It was terrible! Camden is not the safest place to be. I was so scared sitting in the car. I couldn’t wait to get home.
On Sunday, Mike and I spend the day running some errands. We returned a few items to Bed, Bath and Beyond that we didn’t want and got items in return that we needed. We finally bought a pizza stone! I cannot wait to try it out! We decided to use our grill last night since it was a nice summer night.
I love when hot dogs are charred like that! I think they taste the best and have the most amount of flavor like that. I can’t wait to start grilling veggies again. The farmer’s market is the best place to get fresh produce in the summer. I can’t wait to go there next month!
So that was my weekend. I hope you have a great Monday!

Rita’s red velvet water ice = best thing ever! Try it with vanilla custard in a gelati!
So glad you had a great time at the Lady Antebellum concert! I know so many people who were there and it seems like you’re all absolutely raving about it. Getting to see your favorite band perform live is a special kind of magic, isn’t it? Sounds like the show was fantastic!!
Oh my! I must try that! It sounds delicious!!
Thank you! It is magic. I loved it so much! They are super talented!
That pb and j ice sounds weird, yet I want to try it!
It does sound a little weird but it was so good! It had great peanut butter flavor
I don’t like water ice so much, I usually just go custard at rita’s. With sprinkles of course!
The custard is very good! Sprinkles make everything better
