A Weekend With Teresa Giudice & Mother’s Day Celebration!…

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all of you mom’s out there!  You should be proud.  Being a mom, I can imagine is one of the most wonderful things in the world.  I look forward to the day that I will become a mom.  I cannot wait for that.  What did you do this weekend?  The weekend was filled with beautiful weather!  It felt great to finally wear capri pants and flip-flops.  Unfortunately, for the next couple of days the weather is going to be filled with rain.  It’s supposed to pour today but it actually looks pretty nice out.  So who knows with this weather?  It’s crazy!

So let me recap my weekend.  On Friday after work, I went home and touched up my makeup before driving over to my friend/bridesmaid, Courtney’s house.  Once I got there, we hopped into her car and went off to Parx Casino.  I am not a fan of that casino at all.  Most of the time it is VERY smoky in there.  There is a designated smoking section but most people don’t obey it because they are drinking or they merely don’t care.  The only thing I like about the casino is the Chickie’s & Pete’s inside.  That is about as much as I care for that casino.

The reason we were going there was to meet Teresa Giudice from Real Housewives of New Jersey.  I am a big fan of the Real Housewives shows.  The only ones I watch are New Jersey, and Beverly Hills.  I also love Bethenny, obviously!  As well as lately, I’ve been watching Don’t Be Tardy For the Wedding with one of the other Housewives.  I know Teresa is known for her drama and everything but I have really taken a liking to her.  I think she is funny and says funny things most of the time.  I have been watching her on the Celebrity Apprentice too so I really wanted to meet her!

Once we got there, we stood in a line waiting to meet her.  There weren’t very many people there waiting.  Courtney and I were the youngest ones in line.  28 being young there.  So you can imagine who was in the crowd.  I couldn’t believe things I was hearing in line.  Some of these women are obsessed with the Real Housewives franchise and go everywhere to meet these women.  It’s crazy!  Are you fan of any of the Real Housewives show?  Which season is you favorite and who is your favorite Housewife?

She was supposed to start her meet and greet at 5pm.  Well 5pm came and went.  We ended up standing in line for almost a hour before she showed up!  I thought that was kind of rude but I still wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.  When she finally showed up, the line started moving.  Courtney and I made our way to the front.  I was going to take a picture with Teresa with just my camera and then Courtney and I were going to take one together with her cell phone.  Well someone taking the pictures wasn’t having that.  We were only allowed to take one picture, yet the people behind us were able to take multiple.  Tell me how that is fair?!!?!?

Anyway, we finally approached her and I was super nervous!  I told her how I am a fan of hers and that she should have won the Celebrity Apprentice and she laughed.  She was really nice and sweet.

It was a good experience and I am so glad that I went.  She is actually coming back to Barnes & Noble to do a book signing.  I think I might try to attend.  I really like her.  She seemed so different then she does on the show.  We wanted to watch her cooking demonstration but her meet and greet was taking forever and we were both kind of hungry so we left.

We ended up going to Pizzeria Uno and I didn’t take any pictures.  I ordered herb roasted chicken.  It was good but the vegetables definitely did not agree with my stomach.  I had a nice time with Courtney and then called it a night and went home to bed.

On Saturday, I tried to sleep in but heard creaking and nonsense from upstairs of course.  Annoying!  Once I finally managed to get up, Mike and I got ready and went to the travel agent.  We ended up waiting such a long time to talk to her and we didn’t even get to talk to her because the customers she was with wouldn’t leave!  Irritating.  So we talked to her associate and we are all booked and ready to go to Antigua for our honeymoon!  Wahoo!

After the travel agent, we went to Kohl’s to return a few items that we got at the shower that we didn’t register for or need.  We ended up getting a few things and have a credit leftover to get other items we want.  We didn’t see all that much that we were looking for so we might need to check out another Kohl’s.  I’ll post pictures sometime this week of what we got.  We were exhausted so we went home and made dinner.

My dinner (ziti with Earth Balance “butter”, turkey meatballs, and garlic bread)

After dinner, we went and got fro yo which was a very bad idea.  I felt sick the rest of the night.  Bad Hope.  :(   My sickness continued into Sunday because I decided to drink a new coffee we bought.  It seems as though I can only drink decaf in moderation.  Well I drank regular and that was a bad idea.  I was not feeling good at all.  I took a shower and pulled myself together because we had a Mother’s Day celebration to get to.

I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house and we gave our mom her mother’s day gifts.  I feel so blessed to have my mom as my mother.  She has done so much for Melissa and I through the years.  She has a kind heart and we both love her very dearly for everything.  We decided to do wine tastings again!  This time we went to better wineries and did a bunch of tastings and didn’t have to pay for anything!  It was great!  I bought a bottle of wine that all 3 of us really liked.  I’m looking forward to drinking it on a warm summer day.  It was fun!  After the tastings, we went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner.  It was our mom’s request.

I wanted to take it easy on my belly so I ordered vegetarian sushi.

I shouldn’t have eaten the avocado or something really bothered my stomach.  This week I am going back to completely bland foods.  I’m hoping resetting my stomach will help to fix things.  I have cheated a little bit and ate things that I thought I could handle but I am just not ready yet.  It’s very frustrating.  I will get there though.  I know I will.  I am trying to remain strong despite the fact that it is very difficult to do.

Alright, well that is my weekend recap.  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

  1. How cool that you got to meet Teresa! I don’t watch any of the RH shows, but I’ve been loving Celebrity Apprentice this season (started watching because of Clay Aiken and came to like so many of the contestants!). She seems really nice. I hope you get to talk with her again at the B&N signing! :)

    • That is awesome! :) Clay Aiken has been doing SO well! I think he has really impressed a lot of people. Teresa was nice. It’s just so weird to see her in person and watch her on the Apprentice and then see her on RH. She is SO different on RH. I think that is why so many people dislike her. I hope so too :)

  2. Ugh I hate parx with a passion. Once was more than enough for me. I think I still smell the smoke, blech.

    • Me too! I was thankful that it didn’t smell like smoke when we were there. I think it was because it was still pretty early in the night. I have had my fill of that casino. It’s gross.

  3. I’ve never been to Parx, but Tommy went once and said never again. I’m not a fan of casinos in general. I feel if I have a money to blow, I’d rather buy something with it instead of leaving it in a casino.

    • Parx is awful. The only reason I went there was for the signing. I totally agree! I didn’t play any slots. I don’t see a point. If I am in AC, then I will play the penny or nickel slots but I usually only play with $5. I can’t justify using hard earned money to waste on gambling.

  4. Sounds like a fun weekend! I only watch the Real Housewives of Orange County, but I watched a few episodes of Celebrity Apprentice with Teresa. Her hair is so big!
