Wedding Talk Wednesday: 100 Days Away!…

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  This week really feels like it’s flying by!  I’m not complaining.  It’s been a stressful week and one that I find myself not feeling well with my stomach at all.  Last week I was very good with the choices I made with food.  I slipped up over the weekend twice and now my stomach is a complete mess.  I’m hoping that my pain will go away soon.  It’s no fun battling this pain all the time.  I’m really getting sick of it.  I just wish the medicine would work already.  I really believe it’s the combination of medicine and me choosing the right things to eat. Sometimes you get so frustrated and want to eat what you want and that’s it.  Then you end up paying for it.  I’m trying to stay away from feeling that way.  It’s not a good feeling to have.

So after work yesterday, I waited until Mike got home because I couldn’t peel myself off the sofa to make dinner.  We decided to make chicken using a seasoning packet we had in the refrigerator.  I knew that this was not the brightest idea for me to eat for dinner.  So I only ate half a piece of chicken just in case.

The chicken was really good and had a lot of flavor. I would totally make this again once my stomach gets back to how it was, if that ever happens.  I highly recommend these seasoning packets.  This is the second one that we’ve tried.  The first one was great too.  Do you like using pre-made seasonings or would you rather mix them yourself?

So let’s get to my favorite part of Wednesday!  Wedding Talk Wednesday!  I didn’t have anything specific to discuss today so I figure I will just update you on some things that have been going on.  First of all, today is 100 days until we say I do!  That means tomorrow we enter double digits!  That is insane to me.  I feel like it was just yesterday that we started planning our wedding and now it’s almost over.  I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be happy when all of the planning is over.  I’m extremely stressed out with our wedding, among other things.  It will feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder when our wedding is over, as long as everything has gone the way that I planned.

Our graphic designer sent us a bunch of different proofs for the invitations.  We went back and forth between quite a few of them that we liked and finally settled on a design.  I like it a lot and I think it totally sets the vibe for our entire wedding.  She did a great job!  The graphic designer is designing our invitations and all of the other stationary items for our wedding day.  Then I take those files and do what I want with them.  That means I still need order paper, and get frames for various signage.  I need to spray paint the frames that I am getting so that they match the decor as well.  That is causing me a lot of stress.  Then I need to put all of the invitations together and possibly hire a calligrapher.

I’ve been getting a lot of the little detail items that I have been wanting to put out at our wedding.  Let me tell you, Etsy has become my new best friend!  It is such a great site and so many people do incredible work!  I have ordered quite a few things from that site and will continue to place a few more orders from that site.

I need to start on some of the DIY items.  Last Wednesday, I went over to Courtney’s mom’s house so that she could help me with two of the DIY items that we need done.  We started with ideas and getting a few things for it. We still need to put everything together.  I have a few other diy items that I am doing myself that I need to start on.  I keep putting it off and I am running out of time to keep putting it off.  I need to get it done.  Do you like to get everything done immediately or are you a procrastinator?  I usually like to get everything done immediately but I’ve been putting some things off.

In two weeks we are going to our venue to see a sample centerpiece.  I’m so nervous for this!  I really hope the florist got my vision.  I gave her images of flowers that I love and the vibe that I’m going for.  I really hope they are what we discussed and that nothing will need to be changed.  That will be one less thing I need to worry about.  Then our venue is holding an event so that we will be able to see things set up and do some tastings. So I’m looking forward to that too.

The two major items that we still need to do are picking out the tuxedos and ordering them for the groomsman/fathers and getting our wedding bands.  Those are the major, major things that need to get done.  Slowly things will be coming together.  I just can’t believe it’s almost 3 months away.  Time sure does fly!

Alright, well enjoy your Wednesday!  Keep dry!  It’s really a mess outside where I live.

  1. The venue event where you’ll be able to see things set up and do some tastings – is that just for weddings or is it the overall event open house? If it’s the latter, my family might be there, too! My cousin’s Bat Mitzvah reception is gonna be there in November and I know my aunt was planning to attend the open house. We all went along for the one around my other cousin’s Bat Mitzvah time and had a blast.

And on another note: ugh, this weather is a mess for sure. I’m starting to forget what the sun looks like!

  2. These last 100 days are going to fly by. It’s all so exciting and stressful at the same time, but in the end you’re going to get to marry the man of your dreams and have your day exactly like you want it!

I hear you about the weather, its been nothing but gross in NYC too. The sun is supposed to come out for the weekend though so hopefully it will be nice!

    • That is what I am afraid of! I still have to so much to do. ;) I totally agree! You are right. That is thing that I am so happy for. I cannot wait to finally make our relationship official. :)

I hope the weather changes! It seems to be sunny outside today. I hope it’s the same in NYC too.
