Wedding Talk Wednesday: Some Shower Gifts…

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  This week is sure flying by!  It’s hard to believe that it’s May already.  I seriously can’t believe it.  I feel like it was just December.  Where has the time gone?  It’s crazy!  I cannot believe that on May 17th, we will be 3 months away from our wedding.  It doesn’t feel real to me!  Besides the fact that I’m freaking out because I don’t have my wedding gown.  I’m praying that it comes in before the time that they promised me.  They said that it should be in by June 6th because it’s coming from China.  I made an appointment for alterations from a private woman for the last week of June.  She said that should be plenty of time.  So I’m praying that all goes well with that.  I still need to purchase my wedding shoes and my wedding undergarments.  I cannot go to a fitting without the undergarments.  So I need to get on that as soon as I have time to look.

A lot of things for our wedding are pretty much done except for the invitations and stationary type things and few odds and ends.  Mostly everything is coming together.  I’m getting nervous about the invitations and stationary.  I have hired a graphic designer and I’m waiting for her to send her mockups of things.  Then once she does that I will order the supplies and figure out where to get things printed.  If you know if a good printer in the Philly area, please let me know!  I ordered the yamakas last night for the men to wear on their heads during our ceremony.  I’m glad that is out-of-the-way.  I ordered them in Dark Gray.  I think that will look nice.  I didn’t want everything to be purple overload plus silver and pink are our other colors.  I wanted a splash of gray during the ceremony and I think the yamakas being gray will be the perfect touch.

The next big thing that we need to get are our wedding rings.  It’s very easy for Mike but I am the tough one.  We really need to start looking more because we are getting down to the wire here.  I’m sure we will find something soon.

So our house is a mess right now with shower gifts and I couldn’t take pictures of everything because I can’t get to everything but here is a sampling of some of the items that we received.

Courtney's mom made us a wedding cake out of a towel set, on top of a pizza pan! She is super talented and I think this looks beautiful. I am not taking it apart until our wedding is over in August.

Everyone was so thoughtful and creative of the gifts that they gave us.  My old co-worker and really good friend of mine, Jane got us a themed gift.  Her and mine thing is cupcakes.  We love them and talk about them all the time.  She got us a cupcake themed gift which I thought was incredibly sweet!  Courtney got me sexy lingerie of course in the color purple!  Can you tell I’m a bit obsessed with that color?

One gift that I almost started crying when I opened was a gift that my bridesmaids got for me.  I have been searching for a garter to wear and I had no clue what kind I wanted.  I don’t have a ton of money to spend and I was browsing the craft stores seeing if I could get a good deal.  Melissa felt bad and wanted to make sure that I was wearing something special so they got me this:

Toss Garter, and Garter with our initials in the Plum color that matches the Bridesmaids Dresses. The garters are ivory to go with my dress <3

I cannot wait to wear it!  Another gift that completely shocked me was from my friend/bridesmaid Krystal.  She gave Mike and I week to spend in a condo in Coco Beach, Florida!  I thought that was so nice of her and we cannot wait to use it to get away.  People were just so generous to us and for that I am so appreciative.  Do you own any of the things that I mentioned above?  What would be your number one gift that you would want to receive?

Well that concludes another edition of Wedding Talk Wednesday.  Have a great day!

  1. Oh my gosh, that towel set made into a cake … how creative!! And how BEAUTIFULLY done!! That is seriously too cool. I love the Kate Spade china, too. The design is so elegant and whimsical. Reminds me of a fancy ribbon wound around it!

  2. That towel cake looks amazing. Two of my mom’s good friends made me a really cute diaper cake for my baby shower. People are so creative! You got some really good stuff! As a kitchen gadget nut, I’m just a little bit jealous. ;)

I don’t think I could choose a number one gift. I would love to get a new gun-metal colored Kitchenaid with all the attachments!

  3. love the china
