Hi there! Happy Monday! I seriously cannot believe it’s Monday already. Where did this weekend go? I feel like it has come and gone and that was it. I am completely exhausted. I couldn’t really sleep in this weekend. I don’t know why I couldn’t sleep. I guess part of it was stressed related and that I haven’t felt good. I’m not sure. It was frustrating though. I could finally sleep in on both days this weekend and my body didn’t want to. I really hate that. What did you do this weekend? As you can tell from my header this weekend for me was both crazy and short. I’m kind of glad that it’s over and I’m ready to start a new week. Melissa’s birthday is on Thursday so I am super excited for that! Yay!
Let’s go back to Friday, shall we? So on Friday after a really stressful and crazy day at work, I went home and relaxed. Mike and I decided to make a DiGiorno pizza that we had in the freezer.
I scraped some of the cheese and sauce off so it would be less likely to destroy my stomach. I didn’t see anything special about this pizza actually. There was a small hint of garlic bread flavoring but not much. I didn’t particularly like it and I wouldn’t buy it again. The only reason we bought it was because it was on sale for cheap and I had a coupon so it made for a really great deal. I wouldn’t buy it again. I’ll stick with the Annie’s Organic Pizza. That was a great pizza.
After dinner, we went out to run some errands. We did good and I was able to accomplish most of the things that I wanted to. I was glad about that. We decided to go to the Ground Round to get a drink because it was the first time that I was able to drink alcohol in a couple of months. After the stressful day at work that I had, I needed a drink. They had a great happy hour. So I went with a glass of wine. I looked over and expected the bartender to pour me a glass from a bottle of wine. Nope, it came straight out of a box! Ick! It was awful and not the first taste of alcohol that I wanted. I ended up feeling really sick after drinking it. It was terrible! I will not be going back there for drinks anytime soon.
On Saturday, Mike and I ran some more errands together and we went to the mall. I finally bought 2 really cute bathing suits from Victoria’s Secret! I found a couple of other bathing suits hidden in my closet that I actually like. So now I am set with bathing suits for our honeymoon! I am really happy about that because it was stressing me out big time. I will be sure to post pictures at some point of the 2 new bathing suits that I bought. I also ended up buying a white dress from Express. I’m not so sure I really like it though. I think I might be returning it and getting something else instead. The more I keep thinking about it, I don’t know if I would ever wear it. It looks too little girlish for me.
Once we were done shopping, we went home and got ready to go out to dinner with Courtney (bridesmaid) and Ian (groomsman) at Red Robin.
I had fun hanging out with Courtney and Ian. Courtney and I have been friends for the past 11 or 12 years. I’ve lost track of how many years because it’s been so long. Haha. I am thankful that her husband Ian and Mike really hit things off years ago and have become good friends. He decided to ask Ian to be a groomsman which I thought was really nice. Mike and I were both in their wedding as well. After dinner, all of us went back to our place for a little bit and watched tv before calling it a night.
I woke up on Sunday not feeling so hot. My stomach was killing me and I kept running to the bathroom. TMI, I know. It was awful. All I wanted to do was just lay in bed and relax. That was not the case. Melissa had told me that she won tickets for us to attend a bridal show and that I needed to get dressed up. So I put on my dress that I had bought from JC Penney and my Badgley Mishka shoes and we were ready to go. Little did I know that we were walking into my Bridal Shower. I felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable. I wasn’t feeling good and I saw a ton of faces that I had no clue who they were.
I felt good once I sat down with my bridal party and said hello to everyone. It was a nice shower and I will try to get together any pictures that I can because I wasn’t able to take any. I will be sure to take pictures of the massive piles of gifts taking over our dining room. It’s crazy how much stuff we got! Everyone was so generous to us. I don’t know where we are going to put everything! We have lots of new things to try out though. I’m looking forward to that. It was very nice of my soon to be mother-in-law to throw me a shower.
It was so incredibly great to see my Aunt (my mom’s mom), and one of my cousins. Due to a lot of family conflict which I am not going to get into, I hadn’t seen my Aunt or my cousin since I was 12 years old. I’m now 28 years old. So that was a LONG time ago. It was so great to see them. I know that my mom was as happy as could be sitting next to her sister and catching up. Seeing them together just made me feel blessed. My half-sister, Gennifer was also there which I thought was so incredibly great. She really got along great with Courtney’s mom, and my co-worker who retired that I miss dearly, Jane and her sister, Penny. I’m glad that they had a great time talking.
After the shower was over and we brought everything back to our house, I went out with some of my bridesmaids. Kristen was unable to come out because she had a very long drive back home which I completely understand. We went to Pizzeria Uno for drinks and girl talk. It was exactly what I needed. In that moment, I sat there surrounded by my friends who love and care about me and I felt so much support. They truly are such good people and I am blessed that they will be standing up with Mike and I on the most important day of our lives.
After we were done hanging out, Mike and I spent the rest of the night relaxing since I didn’t see him much the whole day. We were too exhausted to go through the gifts. He didn’t really get to see anything. So we will most likely be going through some tonight.
So that was my weekend in a nutshell! I hope you have a great Monday!
