Hi there! Happy Tuesday! I apologize for disappearing over the weekend and not updating yesterday. I had a lot going on this weekend and I just needed some time to unplug and get off the computer for a bit. I hope all of you had a great weekend despite the crummy weather we’ve been having. What did you do this weekend? I’ll recap mine from where I left off on Friday.
Well on Friday, I left work early because I had my follow-up appointment with my gastrointestinal doctor. It went well. He took me off the one medication that I was unable to drink alcohol on. So that was good. He is going very carefully with his approach to my Crohn’s right now because of everything that is coming up, our wedding and honeymoon. He doesn’t want to put me on medication right now that will compromise my immune system. That is the last thing I need. So he is keeping me on the one medication that I have been on but have never been on by itself to see how I do on that. Hopefully that will help my stomach out. I also need to me more conscious of what I am eating. I need to stay away from things that I know are going to upset my stomach because it’s setting me back. I want to move forward and not be set back anymore. I was given another Vitamin B12 shot and I am going back to see him in a month. Before we go on our honeymoon, he is going to make sure I am fully stocked with all of the medications I need in case something happens. I’d rather be over prepared then not prepared at all.
Once my appointment was over, I went to another appointment. That went well also and then I ventured home. I relaxed until Mike got home from work. We had a Meal Soup for dinner which I didn’t take a picture of. Then I picked up Melissa and went to Kohl’s. She ended up getting a REALLY cute pair of shoes! I love them. I ended up getting a really cute dress. I will post pictures of it tomorrow. I love getting 30% off coupons. The dress only cost me $12! Not bad for a dress, if you ask me! We hung out for a while before I decided to go home and get some rest.
On Saturday, Mike made me eggs and a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel. Yum!
After breakfast, we decided to go to a few jewelry stores to get an idea of what we want for our wedding bands. They are expensive! Well at least the one that I want is pricy. We are still looking around and trying to see what kind of deal we can get. I think we are going to go back where Mike got my engagement ring because I want my wedding band to match the band of diamonds around my engagement ring. Maybe he will cut us a deal since he bought my ring there. We shall see. So both of us didn’t end up getting anything yet. We still have time though.
Once we were done, we went home for a little bit and then went to the Ground Round for dinner. I got my usual turkey wrap with fries from there. I didn’t take a picture, sorry! Then we went our separate ways to see movies. I picked up Melissa and we went to see The Lucky One. She had free passes and I’m glad we didn’t have to pay. We both thought the movie was just okay. I hate getting disappointed from Nicholas Sparks movies. He is my favorite author and the majority of his movies and books are amazing. This one was just okay. I wasn’t a huge fan. I loved Zac Efron though. I think he is my new crush. If you like him, you should watch him in Charlie St. Cloud. He is really good in that movie. It’s a depressing movie but it’s good. It’s worth watching at least once.
On Sunday, I cleaned up the house. I couldn’t stand looking at clutter and we wanted to clean out our coat closet because it was a mess. I’m glad that I was able to get rid of a lot of the clutter everywhere. The house looks so much better now. I don’t know how I let it get so bad. GR! After Mike watched the Flyers game and I was done cleaning, we went to the supermarket. It was absolutely pouring outside. It was a miserable day. We decided to eat Chinese food for dinner, which was a huge mistake for me.
I woke up around 4am on Monday morning, rolling around the bed in severe stomach pain. I was crying and running back and forth to the bathroom. It was awful. It was my own fault though. I never should have had Chinese food for dinner. Sometimes I get so frustrated and just eat whatever and then I have to deal with the consequences. I’m not doing that anymore. I can’t stand feeling that way. I took medicine and eventually fell back to sleep for two hours until Mike left for work. I layed there for an hour and then got up and got ready for my fun lady doctor appointment. Ick!
I drove into center city for my appointment and everything went well. She wants to see me back in 6 months though because of the issues I am having with my Crohn’s disease. She wants to work hand in hand with my gastrointestinal doctor. So that is good. I like her. After my appointment, I spent the rest of the day curled up on the sofa watching tv. My stomach was still a mess and I just wanted to take things easy.
I decided to make a spinach and dairy-free cheese omelet with toast and a baked potato for dinner.
My stomach felt okay from this dinner and I was very happy about that. The omelet I made tasted really good too. I love overcooked omelet when they have the brown on them. I don’t know why but I’ve always liked omelet cooked well done like that. I think they taste better for some reason.
Alright, well that is what has been going on my life. I hope you have a great Tuesday!

The weather was miserable here on Sunday too…and it still kind of is. I want it to go back to the 60s and 70s, not the 40s like today.
Good luck with staying on track with your eating. It’s difficult and frustrating, but if it gets you back to being able to eat everything, it will be worth it.
Me too! I don’t know what is going on with this weather. I want the spring back now!
Thank you so much.
You are right. I am willing to do anything if I can get back to eating the way that I was before.
Ugh, such miserable weather. I was in NYC on Sunday/Monday and it was monsoon-like! What happened to our beautiful spring?
As always, well wishes – and healthy wishes – sent your way!
Oh, my! I couldn’t imagine walking around in NYC in weather like that! I hope you still managed to have a great time!
I totally agree! I want spring back asap!
Thank you so much
The wheather in NY was rainy on Sunday so we just stayed inside, hovewer on Saturday we went out for sushi and tacos and it was great! I hope you get healthy, sending a lot of positive energy and thoughts your way!
Sushi and tacos sound great! Japanese and Mexican are my favorite and are the perfect cure to a rainy day.
Thank you so much, Catalina! I appreciate it!
I always cook my omelets well, too. I put cheese in the middle though to give it that goo factor, minus the possibility of salmonella haha.
Haha! I put dairy-free cheese in the middle too once it’s almost completely cooked. I’m glad to find someone else who likes their omelets like I do
