Talk Behind Your Back…

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  I hope all of you had a great weekend and a great holiday!  What did you do this weekend?  I think the weekend went way too quickly.  I wish that I had off today.  Unfortunately, I don’t.  It was so hard to pry myself out of bed this morning.  I wanted to continue sleeping.  It was just one of those mornings.  I was freezing and just wanted to stay under the covers.  Since I work so far from home, I was unable to sleep later and had to get out of bed.  Oh well.  Such is life.  I’ll catch you up to speed on where I am with my life right now and what happened over the weekend.

So on Friday after work, I was feeling not so great when I got home.  I just layed on the sofa for a while trying to relax.  When Mike got home, we decided to have Meal Soup from Bertolli for dinner.  It was quick, easy, and my stomach seems somewhat okay after I eat it.  Probably not the wisest choice but we wanted to save money by eating dinner at home and we both wanted soup.

After dinner, we both felt like going to the mall to walk around and see if anything new and on sale was there.  I had some money that I received for my birthday and I am in dire need of new clothes.  I seriously don’t like anything I have in my closet.  I want to find some cute outfits and clothes for our honeymoon because I will have nothing to wear.  I don’t have very many skirts or dresses either and I’m going to need them for dinners and such on our honeymoon. I ended up finding 2 basic t-shirts, 2 tank tops, a pair of leggings, and a scarf for $30!  Not a bad deal if you ask me.  I should have tried the stuff on though because I have to return everything except for the 2 tank tops and the scarf.  GR!  I hate when that happens.  So my search continues.  We finally decided to go home and catch up on some DVR shows before calling it a night.

On Saturday, we got ready and met our friends/bridesmaid/best man at our wedding for lunch at Panera Bread with their daughter.  We don’t get to see Russ and Kristen that often.  They used to live in Maryland and then they moved to a different part of PA about 2 hours away from us.  So we are still pretty far away.  We always jump at the chance to see them when they come in.

I am so annoyed with Panera Bread.  I ordered just a turkey sandwich with nothing on it on ciabatta bread as a panini.  You think that is easy enough that they won’t screw up the order.  Well that was not the case.  Mike grabs the plate and I look at the sandwich and there is cheese, bacon and it’s on the wrong bread.  So I send it back and show them the receipt about how it should be made.  They bring it back and it’s still on the wrong bread and now has bacon on it again.  I said to them, I cannot eat this.  I requested the sandwich a particular way because I have a health restriction and then he tells a kid to make it.  Well I guess the kid didn’t care that I was standing there and proceeded to curse and make rude comments about me while I was standing there waiting!!!!!!

I said to the manager, that I really didn’t appreciate that and I am sorry but I have health restrictions and ordered my food a certain way.  He apologized and gave a chocolate chip cookie to make up for it.  Eh, I don’t know how that makes up for being talked about behind your back and treated rudely.  I don’t think I will be going to Panera anytime soon, that is for sure!  So rude!

Once I finally got my food settled, I sat down next to Kyleigh who was having a great time with her mac and cheese.  She is so cute.  I had a really nice time talking with Russ and Kristen.  I wish they lived closer.  It was so weird too because I looked up and Courtney (bridesmaid) and her mom were standing right next to me!!  I couldn’t believe that they were there at the same time! It was so funny and random!

After we said our goodbyes and I gave Kristen her bridesmaid dress, Mike and I decided to go to Liberty Travel to talk to someone about our honeymoon.  We ended up talking with a REALLY nice travel agent.  I am so glad that we were able to talk to her.  She opened our eyes to a lot of things and told us a lot about Sandals.  We are now considering different options for our honeymoon and I’m getting excited.  We are hoping to book our honeymoon this week or next week.  I definitely think we will be going with the travel agent because I trust her and it would be one less thing for me to do and stress about. Have you ever used a travel agent or do you prefer to book trips yourself?  I feel like she might be able to get us some perks and better deals if we book through her.  So I think that is what we are going to do.

We stopped home for a little bit and then went to Mike’s parents house for Passover.  I tried a few holiday food items which I really shouldn’t have because I started feeling really sick towards the end of the night.  Once I got home, I knew that I wasn’t going to feel very good the next day and I was right.

On Sunday, I woke up and couldn’t get out of bed.  I felt so incredibly sick. My stomach definitely hated me at that point.  I tried everything that I could and I eventually peeled myself out of bed.  We went to the supermarket and I think the walking around might have helped in addition to medication.  I also finished reading the Hunger Games!!!!  I LOVED the book.  I want to see the movie so badly and I need to read the next book now.  I love it!!!!

For dinner, I decided to keep things simple.  I tossed some fettuccine in Earth Balance “butter” and pepper and had some grilled chicken along with it.

My dinner

It was good but I miss tomato sauce, vodka sauce and Alfredo sauce.  I’m hoping it won’t be long before I can enjoy those sauces again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

So that is all I have for you today.  I’m excited for later today because I am picking up my wedding dress and then I’m hanging out with Melissa!  We are on a mission tonight.  So I’m looking forward to it.

Have a happy Monday!

  1. Ugh, that is just awful about Panera. How hard is it to make an order properly? But even worse, there is absolutely no need to be rude about it, especially in front of the customer and especially when it’s due to a health restriction. Is this the same Panera you’ve had problems at before? Sounds like they need to straighten things out.

Wasn’t the end of The Hunger Games fantastic? It was my favorite part of the whole book and made me so eager to read Catching Fire that I had it on my Nook within the next day ;-) You should definitely see the movie! Overall, they did a fabulous job of adapting the story and still keeping its heart and emotion.

Good luck with your mission tonight!

    • I totally agree with you! No! This was a different Panera. It was the one closer to my house. I couldn’t believe how I was treated there. I actually emailed corporate about my experience at the other Panera and they never emailed me back! What poor customer service! I can’t believe they run a business like that.

It was fantastic! I cannot wait to read the next book!! I really need to pick it up. I definitely want to see the movie. I need to get on that asap! :)

      Thank you!

  2. Ugh I’m sorry that person was so rude to you. I know specialized orders can stress people out when a place is busy, but you weren’t being picky or difficult just for the heck of it, so the behavior was completely uncalled for. :(

  3. Wow talk about rude! If you order something a certain way and it’s their job to get your order right, it shouldn’t be that hard to do..and if it is, then they are obviously not qualified for that job. What a jerk!

I usually book my vacations myself through Apple Vacations, but I wonder if a travel agent could get extra perks. Maybe I’ll check one out for this year’s vacay.

    • I know! Seriously! I don’t understand it at all. I wasn’t trying to be difficult or anything like that. He didn’t need to treat me like a piece of crap.

You should. That is what I am thinking. I’ve heard stories that depending on the travel agent, they might surprise you with some perks especially if you have a good relationship with them. I’m nervous because this is the first time I’m letting someone else be in control of our vacation but I figure, it’s one less thing for me to stress about.

  4. Told you about Hunger Games!!! Read them all now, then re read on your honeymoon. They’re better the second time around! And GO see the movie!

Re: Panera – call the company, for realz. That’s unacceptable and how is a cookie going to help you when you just specified you had health issues?!?!?! I’d call headquarters or something and tell them the location and what time you were there if you don’t know names. Seriously. THIS IS AN IBD FIGHT!!! haha.

    • That is a good idea!! I think I will do that. I definitely want to see the movie so badly!!!

I should! It is really ridiculous! I couldn’t believe how I was treated! I actually emailed them about my experience at a different Panera and I never heard anything back. What poor customer service!
