Good Morning! Happy Monday! The weekends sure do seem to go by so quickly! You blink and then they are gone. I’m looking forward to the extra day off from work next Monday for Presidents Day. It will be nice to have a long weekend to relax. I apologize for my lack of posting over the weekend. I just felt like unplugging from the computer and just trying to relax. I was trying to get myself healthy. Although, nothing that I seem to do is working. I’m still in a lot of pain unfortunately. I’m going on almost 2 months feeling this way. It’s just awful.
Enough about my stomach issues, let’s talk about the weekend. So on Friday when I got home from work, I caught up on the DVR for a while since Mike went to the gym. When he got home we tried to figure out what to eat for dinner. We both kept thinking about the chicken from Boston Market. So we ordered online where I was able to put in a promo code and end up getting us a cheap dinner! I ordered half a white rotisserre chicken, with mashed potatoes and a side of soup. The soup was massive!!! I didn’t think they were going to give such a big bowl for a side.
After eating dinner, we finally ordered our Save the Dates! I am extremely happy with the design we chose. My goal is to have them sent out by this weekend because we will be at 6 months exactly. I’m so happy that I am going to reach my goal. I was getting nervous for a while because we didn’t order the std’s, but I’m thankful that we did and that we are good to go! We also did some honeymoon research. We both really like Sandals. So I think we might end up going with one of their resorts. We are looking at Jamaica and St. Lucia. So we shall see what we decide.
On Saturday, I woke up extremely early. I couldn’t sleep for some reason. I think it was because I didn’t feel good. I just layed on the sofa in pain for the morning. I finally got ready and went over to Melissa and my mom’s house. We got my veil together and went over to the hair salon for my trial with Faith. I’m pretty happy with what we decided on for my hair! I think she did a really good job and I cannot wait to see what it will look like on the day of my wedding. The entire experience felt very surreal. When we put my veil on, for the first time I started to feel like a bride. My eyes started tearing up because I can’t believe this moment is 6 months away. I cannot believe it. I have waited such a long time to marry Mike and I am just so ready.
After my hair trial, we went over to Whole Foods to get lunch. The Whole Foods we went to didn’t have a very big selection of anything to eat which was disappointing. I ended up throwing some random things together that definitely was not picture worthy at all. When we were done lunch, we went over to another salon for my makeup trial. I absolutely love the work of the makeup artist I have chosen. She did a phenomenal job! I absolutely love what she did with my makeup! I trust her 100% with makeup. She truly is so talented in what she does. She is a blessed with her skills. I am so thankful that I was able to book her for my wedding. She was actually the first vendor that I booked as soon as we got the date. I’m glad I was able to get her.
After the appointments, we went back to Melissa and my mom’s house and I put my veil on so I could see the look complete. I was happy with what I decided. I cannot wait to see how everything will come together once I have my dress on. We hung out for a little while and then I went home.
Mike and I decided to go out to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Saturday. We decided to eat dinner at the Salt Creek Grille
. I didn’t take any pictures of my dinner because it was truly boring. They had a delicious sounding chicken dish on the menu but it had things that I need to stay away from for the time being on it. So I asked for a plain chicken with roasted potatoes. The chicken was so tender and slow cooked. It was delicious. The potatoes were really good too. We sat in the bar area and ate dinner while enjoying some jazz music. I absolutely love jazz/big band standards. So I was in heaven listening to the music.
When we were done dinner, we went over to the movie theater to see The Vow. I liked it but I thought it was going to be better than what it was. I think I built up my expectations way too high. I thought Rachael and Channing had really good on-screen chemistry. It’s incredible to think that this was based on a true story. It’s worth seeing.
On Sunday morning, I woke up early again. I’m not quite sure why I can’t sleep but it’s really irritating! I decided to try Van’s
French Toast sticks that I bought a couple of weeks ago.
Cinnamon French Toast Sticks
Sorry for the blurry picture
I really liked them. They had a great cinnamon flavor. You don’t even need syrup. You can just eat them plain. I like that they are all-natural and Gluten-free.
When I was done eating breakfast, I worked for a couple of hours from home and then Mike and I went to the supermarket. We also decided to try lighting a fire in our fireplace for the first time. We have been living where we live now for almost 2 years this summer and never lit the fire. It was about time!
To keep with the fireplace theme, we decided to have a Bertolli Meal Soup for dinner. I thought that this would be gentle enough on my stomach to enjoy.

Soup and garlic bread
I liked this soup a lot. I am a big fan of the Bertolli Meal Soups. It’s plenty of food for two people and it’s perfect on a cold night like last night. The rest of the night we spent watching The Grammy’s. I didn’t watch the whole thing. I was glad to see Adele perform last night. I just love her! Oh, and Carrie Underwood looked stunning! I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look bad!
Did you watch the Grammy’s? Who did you like? What did you do this weekend?
Have a great Monday!
