My First Giveaway Winner!…

Good Morning!!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to great start!  Mine is going pretty well.  I’ve been really busy at work especially since my work is closed on Friday.  So at least I always have something to do and I’m not sitting bored.  I had a pretty productive day yesterday.  I used to be really good friends with one of my co-workers and there was a misunderstanding and we just stopped talking for a while.  I’ve missed her a lot and I decided to take the first step with our friendship yesterday and thankfully things are good now!  We were such good friends and I missed her friendship.  Life is too short to remain angry or upset about something.  It’s better to get things out in the open and work through them.  I missed being friends with her and I had all intentions of wanting her to be a bridesmaid in my wedding back when we were really good friends.  I’m hoping that we can reach that place and I would love to add her as a bridesmaid in my wedding.  So we will see what happens.  I’m just so proud of myself that I reached out and fixed things with us.  I’m usually not one to go and do something like that.  How do you feel about confrontation?  Do you stay away or do you like to talk things out up front?

Dinner last night was rather delicious.  Mike has been begging for Sweet Potato Gnocchi from Trader Joe’s.  I’m not kidding you when I tell you it’s his favorite thing from that store.  We haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in a while and I’ve been saving a package in my freezer.  Since he’s been asking so much I thought I would make it for dinner last night.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

I would make this more often but I hate the packaging!  I wish they would put it in a pouch or something.  The packaging definitely needs to be changed.  It’s difficult to cook because when you take it out of the package, it’s a huge block!  You have to wait for the entire thing to melt and then some of the gnocchi’s break.  It’s a mess.  It tastes delicious but I just wish that they would change the way they package the product.

Another view.

It sure was delicious!  I would love to make these from scratch.  I think that would be so amazing to have made these homemade.  Needless to say, Mike was very happy when he came home from the gym and saw Sweet Potato Gnocchi on his plate.

Is there a specific product that is only sold at a certain store that you always have to get?  What is the product and where do they sell it?  It doesn’t have to be food related.  Mine is the Veggie Masala burgers from Trader Joe’s.  I love those things!  I haven’t seen them anywhere but TJ!  I’m going through withdrawal because I haven’t had them in so long!  I think I see a TJ trip in my future!

After dinner, I ended up buying our toasting flutes and cake server for our wedding!!!!  I am super excited about it.  I have been looking on the website to buy these ever since I first saw them.  I’ve been waiting for a sale and yesterday I was in luck!  The flutes were on sale and then I found a code for 20% off and it took off $20 from my total!  I got a bargain!  I even got our first names and our wedding date engraved on both the toasting flutes and the cake server for free.  I was going to order from Things Remembered but they charge for engraving and some of their flutes and cake servers are way too gaudy looking for us.  So I ended up ordering them from Personalization Mall’s website.  I highly recommend it!  Once I get them, I will post pictures of what they look like!  We also ordered our engagement picture cd!  Finally!  This is our second engagement session with our actual wedding photographer.  These are the ones that will be used for our Save the Dates, among other things.  Once I get the cd, I will definitely do a post with some of those pictures!

Before I go, I want to announce the winner of my first giveaway!  Thank you to all of you who entered.  I used Random.org to pick the winner.  I wasn’t too sure how to post the picture from Random.org.  I tried the best I could!

  1. you should try and run the bag under some cool water for a few minutes and that should help break them up :) I hate when that happens too. And glad to hear you worked things out with your friend!

  2. Mmmm I love the sweet potato gnocchi from TJs – I always let mine thaw in the refrigerator for a bit before attempting to make it.

  3. That must have been such a good feeling, taking the first step to mending things with your friend. I hope you two can get back to a great place again :)

    • It most definitely was! I am so happy to be talking to her again. I truly believe that some people are just meant to be in your life and regardless if you talk everyday or not, you are still friends. You can make things work. Everyone is there for a reason. :)

  4. I HATE confrontation! Good for you for taking the first step…I’m not very good at that. At all.

  5. I am still yet to try that gnocchi, but I’m pretty sure making it from scratch shouldn’t be hard. My mom makes kopytka which are the Polish version of gnocchi and all it is is potatoes, egg and flour that you make into gnocchi shape and boil.

I can’t wait to see the flutes and cake sever. I’m such a sucker for personalized stuff.

    • It’s really good and worth trying. I agree with you. I think it might be pretty easy to try and make. :)

Me too! I will definitely post pictures once I get it. Hopefully it wil arrive soon. I’m getting anxious to see it.

  6. I am so, so glad that the two of you have mended things. I love you both!
Do you put any sauce on the gnocchi? I love regular gnocchi with marinara sauce.

    • Me too! It feels like a weight has been lifed off my shoulders. It was a big misunderstanding. I love you too!

Well this gnocchi has a sage butter sauce on it. I normally put marniara sauce on plain gnocchi too. I loved the gnocchi from that restaurant that we went to that time. We should go back! :)
