A Free Dinner Kind Of Evening…

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday!  It’s so freezing outside today!  The temperature has dropped drastically and it’s really windy!  I would much rather have this than the rain that we have been having for the past couple of days.  The rain was really bad yesterday.  It just kept pouring and wouldn’t stop.  Last night it was coming down like buckets!  There are a lot of flooding issues that people are dealing with today, I’m sure.  Hopefully that will be the last of rain that we see for a while.  I’m over all of it especially since how much rain we got this summer!

Enough weather talk.  So last night for dinner, I knew exactly what I wanted to try to do.  I was determined to do it too!  The Bonefish Grill had sent me a $10 rewards card in the mail for my anniversary with Mike.  I got a rewards card because I signed up for emails on their website.  They send you rewards cards for your anniversary and your birthday!  It’s pretty cool and definitely worth it to sign up after I tell you about the deal that I got.

Since money has been really tight lately, we don’t have the money to spend to go out to dinner at Bonefish since it’s on the pricier side of things.  I knew that every Wednesday they have their Bang Bang Shrimp on special for $5!  Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish is literally hands down the best thing on the menu!  I love it.  So I decided to see if I would be able to order two orders and get them to go and use my $10 rewards card.  What was the worst that could happen?  They would say dine in only?

So I went into the restaurant and asked if I could do this and they said sure but I would have to pay the 60 cent sales tax.  That was fine especially since I was getting 2 orders of the shrimp for free.  So I waited for them to prepare the food and the host came out with my bag and said have a good night and didn’t ask for the tax!  I thought that was very nice of them!  They have really great customer service plus the place was getting completely packed and it was only 4:30pm!  I could only imagine how crowded it was going to be later that night because of the Bang Bang Shrimp special!

I was a happy girl with my free food.  I decided to make us both a salad and roast some vegetables to go along with our free shrimp.

Delicious Bang Bang Shrimp

It tasted just as good as it does in the restaurant!  They gave so much too and along with the salad and the veggies, I made, I ended up eating half of the shrimp and left some extra for Mike to eat.  Not bad for a free meal, if you ask me!  What is the best free food item that you’ve ever received?
I feel like most restaurants have a popular item that almost everyone orders when they go there.  For example, Bonefish Grill has these Bang Bang Shrimp.  I know when I go to PF Changs, I need to order the Chicken Lettuce Wraps or the Banana Spring Rolls. They are both incredible!  Another one is when I go out for sushi, I always need to order edamamae now.  I don’t know what it is about it.  I just love those little soy beans!  The last one I can think of is Chickie & Pete’s!  You gotta order the crab fries!  It’s all about the crab fries.
What do you think?  Is there a particular restaurant that when you go there, you have to order a certain item?  Do you like any of the items that I mentioned above?
Well I hope you have a lovely Thursday!  Keep warm!!

  1. OMG I love crab fries!! I need to have them again soon. I am going to a Flyers game in March and my mouth is salivating already thinking about them haha. I signed up for Bonefish too, thanks for the tip! Too bad my anniversary and birthday just passed in the last 3 months ha. There’s always next year :)

    • They are so good! Haha! You are lucky! I haven’t had them in a while and I want them too. I don’t know what it is about them. I should try to make them at home. I have Old Bay seasoning.

Aw! I’m glad you signed up though! They sometimes will send you coupons and offers just because! :)

  2. Ugh, that weather was abominable last night. I got so drenched walking back to the car after Jingle Ball that I may as well not have bothered with an umbrella. Such miserable conditions to be outside in!

  3. I’ve never been to any of the places you mentioned! I’m totally missing out. NY definitely lacks good chain restaurants, but I’m totally with you on the edamame. Any time we go for sushi we have to start with edamame and miso soup.
