The Start Of A Beautiful Month…

Good Morning to you!  Happy December 1st!  Can you believe it’s already December?  I seriously can’t. I feel like 5 seconds ago, it was the summer!  It’s hard to believe that 2012 is around the corner.  I wish time would slow down.  I know I say this every single day but I really wish it would.  I feel like just days, weeks, and months go by and I can’t even appreciate them.  I do really enjoy the holiday season though.  It’s one of my favorite’s.  I love seeing the lights, and decorations and hearing the music.  It gives you such a cozy feeling.  I love that.  It’s a time to spend with those that you love.  That is what makes it so beautiful.  What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?  Do you have a tradition that you do every year during this time?

Last night for dinner, we tried something that I had been eying at the supermarket for a while now.  I had a coupon for it and I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale.  We finally decided to buy it on Sunday.  It’s DiGorno Pizza and Wyngz.  We both had never had a DiGorno pizza before and we were excited to try it.

Pizza & Wyngz

It was easy to prepare.  You cook the pizza and the chicken on baking sheets for the time allotted.  Meanwhile, in a bowl add the buffalo sauce and warm it in the microwave just before the chicken is done baking.  Once it’s done, add the chicken to the bowl and toss to coat!  So simple.

Pepperoni Pizza (you can be sure I picked the pepperoni off my slices..eww!)

I picked the pepperoni off after the pictures..

Something that I thought was weird about this was on the packaging pertaining to the chicken, it said may contain 6-8 pieces.  Why wouldn’t each box contain the same amount?!  Ours had 7 pieces.  The buffalo sauce was WAY too spicy!  Now I love buffalo sauce but this one burned my entire mouth and my lips.  It was awful.  I don’t like wings that hot!  I actually prefer to eat regular buffalo wings not boneless.  These were boneless.

As for the pizza, it was just alright.  I didn’t care for the sauce too much.  I did like that the crust was doughy.  That is the best part of pizza when it’s cooked like that.  I am still not a huge fan of frozen pizza.  I like making it myself.  I know I keep saying this but before the new year, my goal is to make pizza dough from scratch!  Seeing as today is December 1st, I have 30 days before the new year to accomplish this!  I think I can do it.  I think frozen pizza in moderation is good, just like anything else.  The key to living a good life is to be able to balance the good with the bad.  What do you think of frozen pizza?  Do you like it?  What is your favorite brand of frozen pizza?

Now, I’m going to jump back a bit to what I was talking about at the beginning of this post, the holiday season.  I knew the holidays were near when I walked into the lobby of my building that I work in.  Every year they decorate the tree in the lobby.  I think I’ve taken a picture of the tree almost every year.  The first couple of years that I worked here, they weren’t so great.  The last couple of years the tree has been beautiful.  I think the way that it’s decorated right now is stunning!

I really LOVE the colors!  Maybe I’m being biased because they are my wedding colors?  Either way, I absolutely love how it looks!  It’s so elegant and beautiful.  I love the boxes at the bottom of the tree!  They are so glittery!  I just think that it is beautiful and they did such a great job.  True story, I’ve never decorated a tree before!  Well it’s not that strange because I don’t celebrate Christmas, so why would I have a tree?  I would like to help decorate one though.  I think it would be fun!

I love how this time of year is all about spending time with those that you love.  That is the most important thing.  Of course gifts are nice too but they are not necessary.  I think most of the time the most beautiful gift of all is spending time with those people or even making handmade gifts.  I think those are the most thoughtful because you take all of that time and effort to put them together.  That is what I did last year for my friends.  I made them all tins filled with a bunch of different types of cookies because money was really tight and I didn’t have enough to buy actual gifts.

I think I might do something along the lines of that again this year.  I had so much fun baking cookies with Melissa last year that I think we should keep the tradition alive!  Especially since I have a KitchenAid mixer now.  It will make things much easier. We need new cookie recipes though because I didn’t really care for any of the ones we used last year.

On that note, have a wonderful first day of December!

  1. One holiday tradition we’ve had going for a long time is an ornament exchange between my older sister and I. I think I’m handmaking hers this year as I found a hilarious pattern thanks to Pinterest. :) Love the tree at your work! They set up ours here this week as well. I’m ready for the holidays now the weather cooled down!

    • An ornament exchange sounds so cute! I love that idea. That is great that you are making a homemade ornament. I think it’s going to be so special! :) That is awesome. Me too. I’m loving this weather!

  2. We just tried that pizza a couple weeks ago! I actually preferred the buffalo wings, but I love buffalo sauce and I’m not a huge fan of pepperoni pizza.

  3. I loooove frozen pizza. Like way too much. I usually eat the whole thing by myself. Both alone and in it’s entirety.

  4. Such a pretty tree!! I always love seeing how different offices/buildings decorate theirs. When I was at Action News, they had this ginormous one in the lobby, strung all in shades of red and gold. It was so beautiful that I literally had to stop every time I walked by to look at it :) I totally agree with you – it must be so fun to decorate a tree! Hanukkah decorations are pretty and festive, but the variety is definitely smaller.

    • Me too! I always find it so interesting to see what ornaments and such people place on the tree. It’s special. :) Wow, that is awesome! That is what I do every morning I walk into work now. It’s so pretty and cheerful. I love it. I definitely agree with you on that!

  5. I have sooo many traditions and I am very stubborn about changing them : ) I like tombstone frozen supreme, but otherwise I like homemade or pizza shop way better!

  6. I love decorating and putting up our tree. We always get a live tree and last year we went to a place where you actually go out into a Christmas tree farm and cut down your own tree. It was pretty cool. We follow the Polish tradition and celebrate on Christmas Eve. We have a big dinner that doesn’t include any meat, only fish and veggie dishes and we can’t sit down to eat until the first star shines in the sky. We also always go to midnight mass. I could go on and write you an essay, but I’ll spare you. ;) I just loooove the holidays!

    • Wow, that is awesome! I can only imagine how fun it must be to cut down your own Christmas tree! That is so cute! I love all of your traditions. I think that is what makes the holidays so special. I love the holidays too :)

  7. For frozen pizza I actually really like DiGiorno. It’s def our go to brand if we need to pick up something quick for one night.

    • I think part of the reason I didn’t like that much was because of the pepperoni. I’ll have to give it another try. I did like the crust though. It was nice and doughy :)

  8. Oh girl, I hear you. Time is FLYING now. I can’t believe it’s nearly 2012 already. That’s just cah-razy!

The tree in your lobby is so pretty! Love it. :)
