Sleepless in Philadelphia…

Good Morning!  Happy Cyber Monday!  I can’t believe it’s already Monday and we are back to work.  This weekend went by entirely too quick!  At least it’s only a few weeks until Christmas and when my work has off for a couple of days. I’m looking forward to that.  Are you doing any online shopping today for Cyber Monday?  If you did, what did you buy and did you get a good deal?

I’m not sure if I’m going to do any Cyber Monday shopping.  I’ll have to see what kind of deals are out there.  I am just so exhausted today.  I’m not exaggerating, I think I might have had all of 2 hours sleep last night.  I honestly don’t know what the people above us are doing!  All I hear the entire night is their floor creaking.  It’s non-stop!  It’s at least every hour of the night!  I used to be a heavy sleeper and nothing would wake me up but hearing that creaking has woken me up immediately. It’s really ruining my sleep.  I couldn’t sleep in all weekend.  It’s really getting to Mike and I.  I just pray that maybe the couple will be away this week so we can sleep.  Are you a heavy or light sleeper?

So I’ll get back to where I left off on Saturday.  I pretty much just hung around the house for the majority of the day until I finally decided to get ready and go out to get my glasses repaired.  The last time I got them fixed, the person didn’t know what they were doing and they were still sliding off my nose.  So luckily, this time, the girl fixed them perfectly.  We walked around the mall for a little bit but neither of us ending up getting anything.  The mall actually wasn’t even that crowded.  I was surprised.

After the mall, we head home and just relaxed and watched tv.  We were trying to figure out what to do for dinner when I recieved a call from Mike’s cousin, Bianca.  She asked if we had any dinner plans and if we wanted to join her and her boyfriend for dinner.  So we said sure.  His cousin doesn’t know that I have a blog and I’m trying to keep it that way.  So I didn’t take any pictures of my meal.  I ended up ordering ravioli in a vodka sauce.  It was delicious.  After dinner, we went back to our house for an hour and then called it a night.  Bianca and her boyfriend actually just bought a house a few steps away from where we live.  So I’m sure we will be seeing them quite often in the future.

On Sunday, I was just so exhausted when I woke up.  I couldn’t sleep because once again I heard creaking!  UGH!  Mike and I got up and went to the supermarket.  We ended up getting some good deals at the store.  A lot of salad mixes and bags of spinach had $1 off coupons on them.  So we got a bag of salad mix for 99 cents and a bag of spinach for like 64 cents!  I love deals like that.  Chicken was on sale too.  So we got almost a pound of chicken for like $2.

After shopping, we went to Panera Bread.  I was in the mood for broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl.  Yum!

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

I love their soup from Panera.  I don’t remember the last time I had it.  So it was definitely a treat!  We went back home after lunch and watched some tv before the Eagles game.  I actually ended up falling asleep for an hour but awoke to creaking.  I seriously cannot take it!  Anyway, before I knew it, it was time for dinner.

We still have SO much turkey left.  I’m really starting to get sick of eating leftovers but I don’t know what to do with it all.  Does turkey freeze well?  Have any good turkey recipes that I can use the leftover turkey with?    I’m not exaggerating when I say I have a ton of turkey left.  I have pounds and pounds of turkey!  I think tonight might be our last night eating it and then depending on what you guys say, I might try to freeze some to have at a later time.  I can only eat so much turkey.

So last night we had Thanksgiving leftovers once again.

Thanksgiving once again

What is your limit on leftovers?  How long can you eat them for?  I think like 3 days is my max.  I get so sick of it after a while, even if I like it. I need some change in my dinners.  I guess I should have got a smaller turkey.  I thought though that we wouldn’t have had this much left.  Oh well.  At least it was free.

On that note,  I should get going.  Have a great Cyber Monday!  Happy Shopping!

  1. Is there anyone you can complain to about the neighbors? Some sort of condo association or anything? It’s beyond unfair that you and Mike should have to deal with this on a daily basis. Once in awhile is bad enough, but not constantly!

It sounds like you had a great weekend, otherwise. Panera = AMAZING. We should go sometime :)

My fingers are crossed that Cyber Monday brings some great deals. There’s one DVD in particular that I want to buy (Something Borrowed), but nobody’s had it on sale yet!

    • I’m not sure. We have a condo association but I don’t know if they could demand our neighbors to replace their flooring. It’s awful. I think Mike might call there and see what they say or he might try talking to the neighbors again. It’s not fair. We pay so much in rent to live there. We don’t deserve to be sleep deprived. GR!

We definitely should! I’m up for that! :)

I LOVED that movie! It’s definitely on my list of movies to buy. I never see that one on sale! I don’t know why. I was finally able to buy Letters to Juliet on Black Friday. That movie was so good.

      • Yay! Will email or text you to set up plans for sometime soon!

Wasn’t the movie great? I’m biased, because I ADORE the book (Emily’s my all-time favorite author!), but it’s one movie I could watch over and over (and have three times already) and never get tired of it. Ooh, I loved Letters to Juliet, too. What store had it on sale?

      • Sounds like a good idea! :)

That movie was really great! I didn’t read the book but I’m sure I would have loved it. That is awesome. I’ve only seen it once. I got it on sale on Black Friday at Target. It was on sale for $3.99.

  2. I’m hoping to do some cyber monday shopping but only if I find a great deal as well.

I’m sick of leftovers now. I think my limit is just two days. After that, I’m not eating it anymore. Haha.

  3. I’m looking at the Bath and Body Works website and they have some great buy 1 get 1 free deals.

I saw a really great turkey recipe for shepherd’s pie on TV. It was basically just chopping up the turkey, mixing it with your leftover veggies and gravy and topping it with leftover potatoes and baking it.

Broccoli cheddar is the best soup from Panera and the bread bowl just makes it more amazing.

    • I think I could buy everything in Bath and Body Works. I love their products! :)

Mmm..that sounds really good actually! I love shepard’s pie.

I totally agree with you, 100%! I could eat that soup everyday.

  4. Panera bread bowls are my life. Seriously. I’m sorry your neighbors creak at you, ew. Hope you get better sleep tonight. And you can give me all of your leftovers. Since we went back to PA Friday I didn’t get to have any! :(

  5. I feel ya on the neighbors- I hear the ones above us all the time too. Thankfully it’s only woken me up a couple of times though. Hope you get better sleep asap :)

  6. I am sooooooo into panera brocoli cheddar right now! Uno had good stuff,t oo. And I only got 3 hours of sleep; clearly not enough based on how I’m feeling! It’s something about long weekends; I can never fall asleep heading back into work.
