Hi there! Good Morning and Happy week before Thanksgiving! Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! Crazy!! I found the most incredible sounding recipe for turkey that I saw on an episode of Giada at Home over the weekend. I seriously cannot wait to try it! My mouth was watering the entire time! So I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! What did you do this weekend? Anything fun? This week is going to be very busy for me. I have a lot of things planned to do after work this week. I’m a little stressed and tired but it should be okay. :)
I’ll pick up where I left off yesterday. So when I was done blogging, I finally decided to get ready and head over to Melissa and my mom’s house. We hung out there for a while and then we decided to go to the mall. I tried on the two dresses that I liked at Express. The dress that I wanted to wear on Friday for our anniversary ended up looking a little more revealing than wheat I originally thought. So that was no. Then I tried on the dress that I thought would look cute for our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. That one had way too much rouching in the waist and made me feel uncomfortable. I think I might have bought the dress that I tried on for Friday if it were under different circumstances but I was hoping to find a cute, reasonably priced dress that I can wear with black tights and black boots. If you know of any cute dresses, send ‘em my way! :)
We went to a few other stores but I didn’t end up getting anything. Then we went to the supermarket. I got such good deals! The store was running a promotion if you bought 4 Kellogg cereals that they would automatically take $6 off your purchase. In addition to that I had 3 other $1 off coupons that I could use. So I ended up getting 4 boxes of cereal for $2! Amazing!! I love when they run that promotion. I also picked up a rotisserie chicken which is slowly becoming one of my favorite staples to eat in our house. It’s so quick and easy! What is something that you have to buy every single time you go to the supermarket?
After shopping and hanging out for a bit, I ventured home. I decided to roast some sweet potatoes, butternut squash and string beans to go along with our chicken. I also made Simply Biscuits that I had sitting in the refrigerator.
In addition to these sides, I had one more side to add. Thanks to the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I was given a free coupon to try a Green Giant vegetable of my choice. As soon as I looked in the supermarket for the vegetable that I wanted to try, one immediately jumped out at me! It sounded great!
I decided on the Broccoli & Cheese Sauce.
These vegetables only have 45 calories per serving. They are steamers that you put in the microwave to cook. Very simple as a side-dish or it can be added to make a main dish. I thought it would be great to mix some whole-wheat macaroni noodles in with the broccoli and cheese sauce. It would be very appealing to children because it would be cheese and noodles with some broccoli thrown in. Plus, it would be so quick and easy to prepare!
Normally, I don’t like cheese sauces or any sauces on my vegetables. I usually never buy them with sauces only plain. However, these were different. The sauce wasn’t heavy or thick. It was actually quite light for a cheese sauce. I loved this! I would totally buy it again only if I had a coupon because it can be pricy! I think it makes a great side-dish like I said earlier but there are many ways that you can transform this into a main dish. I think that is why it is so versatile. It’s also from a brand that you can trust, Green Giant. Thank you Foodbuzz and Green Giant for allowing to me try a wonderful product!
What do you think of frozen vegetables? Do you like them? What is your favorite kind to buy frozen? Do you prefer fresh vegetables instead?
I like the fact that you can even roast frozen vegetables. I do it all of the time. Sometimes buying frozen vegetables can be a lot cheaper than buying fresh. It’s all a matter of preference and budget.
Alright well I hope you enjoy your Monday as much as we can possibly enjoy Monday! :) See you tomorrow!

I always keep frozen veggies on hand for a quick side if I don’t have anything else planned. I’ve been especially liking the steam in the bag kind. It’s so easy!
Maybe Boscovs or Kohls for a dress? I’ve found some really cute ones there, and you can’t beat the prices, especially when they’re having a sale.
Those biscuits look so good!
See you tonight, yay!
It’s so hard to find a decent dress like we talked about last night. I still need to search my closet.
Thanks!
Yay!
Frozen veggies are the jam. I never use fresh ones in time before they go bad, so I like that I can keep stocked and have an easy dinner side at all times.
I agree. They defintiely make for an easy side dish or even an addition to a main dish. The best part is that they don’t go bad. They stay fresh in your freezer.
I love buying fresh veggies but they always go bad soon so frozen ones are my next best option. Broccoli and cheese sounds delicious.
I agree. I love fresh vegetables but frozen ones are definitely a close second. It was really good. I was impressed by them.
Ha, I had those same veggies last night! I enjoyed them too.
Haha, that’s funny! I was impressed by them.
