Hi there! Happy Wednesday! As you know, my favorite day of the week to blog. I’m so glad that all of you agree with me about the doctor that I had to deal with. So unprofessional! I haven’t called my insurance company yet to talk to them about this mishap. I’m hoping to get to it today. I was quite busy yesterday and didn’t have to time to deal with it.
So after work, I picked up Melissa and we decided to go to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. The last time I went there, I didn’t like the food at all. I was hopeful though that this experience would be a better one.
I was having a really hard time trying to figure out what to order for dinner. I haven’t really liked the past couple of things that I ordered from there. I had no clue what I was in the mood for. All of a sudden, I smelled buffalo wings so I decided on that. I ordered buffalo wings with a side of mashed cauliflower. Random, I know.
Our service was absolutely awful! The wings were the worst wings I ever had. They were so greasy and fatty. I picked apart whatever chicken I could salvage but it was making me feel gross. They were just SO bad! Never order them, if you want wings and you are at Ruby Tuesday. The best part of my meal was the mashed cauliflower. I was glad that they didn’t mess that up. Ick!
After dinner, Melissa and I went to a few stores to browse but neither of us bought anything. I’m waiting for Black Friday. I’m hoping that I can get a lot of wedding things that I need on Black Friday at ridiculous prices. Fingers crossed!
Speaking of wedding, let’s get to Wedding Talk Wednesday! This week’s edition, I am going to introduce you to my bridesmaids. I’m slowly starting to run out of topics for this feature. So please, if you have any topics that you would like me to talk about in regards to weddings, don’t be shy! Leave a comment or send me a private email. I could use all the help I can get!
I have 4 bridesmaids if you include my sister, Melissa who is my maid of honor. Let’s first talk about Melissa.
Melissa (Maid of Honor)
That is one of my favorite pictures of us! I knew from the second that Melissa was born that she would be my maid of honor. It’s not often that you find in life, that someone who is related to you that happens to be your sister becomes your best friend. We have always been very close from the time we were little. We are 4 years apart in age but that means nothing. She is my heart and soul. I cannot express into words how much she means to me. She has the biggest heart in the world and is always doing things for others. She is so genuine and pure plus we have a ton of inside jokes. She means the world to me. I am so excited that she is going to be a part of such a special day in Mike and I’s life. I am looking forward to all of these new moments with planning that we are going to be making together. She is truly a wonderful person and I am so blessed that she just happens to be my sister.
Courtney (Bridesmaid)
Courtney and I have been friends since high school. We met when I believe I was a senior and Courtney was a junior. We actually both dated the same guy and that is how we met. Ironic, huh? The thing that drew me to Courtney instantly was her outgoing and bubbly personality. She was the complete opposite of me. I was so shy and reserved in high school. It was because of her that brought me out of my shell. I felt like when we were together I wasn’t afraid to speak my mind. We spent many late nights going on dates, looking for guys, gossiping, driving around together, etc. Although, we have had some rocky moments in our friendship, we have always come back to each other and for that I am thankful. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding 2 years ago and I’m glad that she is going to be sharing those moments with me in mine.
Kristen (Bridesmaid)
Kristen’s husband is Russ who just so happens to be Mike’s best friend since elementary school. I remember way back in 2005, it was Thanksgiving break from college and Mike and I had been together I think a week and a half at that point. He asked if I wanted to go on a double date with him and his best friend and his best friend’s girlfriend which was Kristen. So I said sure. Kristen and I got along but we never really became that close. It took a little bit for us to warm up to each other and after we did, we became SUCH good friends. She has such a pure heart and is such a genuinely nice person. We have gone on trips to the shore with them twice and had a really good time. I can connect with her on so many levels. I know that her and I will be friends forever. She is even teaching her daughter, Kyleigh to call me, “Aunt Hope.” I am so flattered! I am so thankful that Mike is friends with Russ because it brought me to Kristen. We have been friends for a little over 6 years now and I can’t wait for when we have kids in the future so that they can play with Kyleigh and her future siblings!
Tarra (Bridesmaid)
Tarra and I just so happened to start our jobs on the same exact day, 5 years ago. We were in the same training class and talked briefly at first. Eventually our seats were moved where she sits in the cubicle behind me. We became friends instantly! We have a lot in common and she is a fun person to be around. Plus, she loves doing the cupid shuffle with me at work functions! ;) No but seriously, she is a great person and I really enjoy being friends with her. We can joke around with each other and have those serious moments too. I am so thankful that I get to interact with such a good friend at work everyday. She makes work bearable! I cannot wait for her to be a part of our wedding and to do the cupid shuffle with me!
Bridesmaids be ware! We are all doing the cupid shuffle. It is by far my favorite line dance! ;)
Do you like line dances? Which ones are your favorites? My favorite is obviously the cupid shuffle but I also like the cha cha slide.
How many bridesmaids do you want in your wedding? Or if you are married, how many bridesmaids did you have?
Well I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about those special people in my life that are going to be standing next to me on our special day. Have a great Wednesday! :)

I only had a maid of honor because I couldn’t pick and choose between all the sisters-in-law and my friends! But it looks like you’re going to have a lovely group there to support you
Thank you.
It definitely is hard to choose people especially if you have a lot. I think a big bridal party would be very overwhelming plus making sure that everyone gets along. It’s stressful.
It’s sweet for you to dedicate a post to your bridesmaids. You girls are gonna have a blast in the next months leading up to the big day!
I want to have 4 or 5 bridesmaids and I kinda know who I want to pick. I already have a flower girl and ring boy too!
Thank you!
I hope so! I’m definitely looking forward to it. I think I will be looking forward to it even more once a lot of things I need to get done are done. I’ve been really overwhlemed lately with everything I have to do. It’s a lot putting together a wedding especially when you have a particular vision in your head of what you want everything to look like.
Aw, that is awesome!
I kind of wish that we would have a flower girl and a ring boy but we don’t really have anyone that could be it and I didn’t really want kids at our wedding.
Going back to your post from yesterday about friendship, it’s so obvious what special connections you have with your bridesmaids. That’ll just make things even more exciting as you all gear up for the big day! I’d imagine that so much of a wedding is about sharing the journey with people you love and care about, and just from the way you talk about your bridesmaids, it’s clear you have that with them.
I think I’d opt for what you did – a Maid of Honor and three, maybe four, bridesmaids. One of my best friends had a this amazing fairytale wedding over the summer where she had ten bridesmaids (!!) and even though it was absolutely gorgeous, it made me think that I’d want a smaller bridal party. I’ve always been more about smaller groups for things like that. Okay … now you you’ve kicked my wedding fever into high gear again
Aw, thank you!
I totally agree. The thing that makes the planning and everything worth it is the support from the people who love you. Sure, there are the people who bring negative to the table but as long as you have the positive. That is what makes it worth it.
Wow! Ten bridesmaids! That is VERY overwhelming! I totally agree with you. I’d rather have a smaller bridal party, well because I don’t have anymore people to add to mine. Haha. I just think it would be easier dealing with a smaller group of people. Yay! Haha. Weddings are just so fun to talk about.
When I get marry, I would love to have a least 5 bridesmaids, but if I can’t find 5 then at least 3.
It’s so sweet of you to talk about your bridesmaids. It must be exciting planning for your wedding.
That is a good number. I think anything more than 5 is huge! I think that would be overwhelming.
Thank you!
It is exciting and stressful all at the same time.
