A Splash Of Purple…

Hi!  It’s my favorite day of the work week, Friday!!!  I especially love the first Fridays of the month because it is free hot breakfast at work!  I cannot wait to place my breakfast order.  I think I will go with the usual today.  That is egg and cheese on a bagel.  The cafeteria at my work makes the best breakfast sandwiches.  I love them!  I think it tastes even better because it’s free!  Free tastes better in my opinion!  :)

I’m really looking forward to this weekend.  I’ve been waiting for it for a while now.  Why you might ask?  Well tomorrow, my bridesmaids and I are going to David’s Bridal!!  I’m excited.  I can’t wait for the girls to all meet each other.  Melissa knows all of them except one of my friends.  The rest have never met each other.  So I’m hoping that it goes well.  I think it will.  I have the dress in mind that I would like for the girls to wear.  Melissa already picked out her dress so that is settled.  I just hope all of the other girls will fit in the dress.  I have a vision in my head of how I want the bridesmaids to look that goes along with the overall feel of the wedding.  So I’m really hoping that the dress is flattering on all of them.  I have a few backups but I’m hoping my favorite wins overall!  Either way, I’m excited!  What are you doing this weekend?

So let’s recap yesterday.  Melissa and I went to the doctor for her procedure.  The procedure went well.  It took a while for Melissa to get out of being loopy.  I’m glad that she was pretty much feeling okay after the procedure was over.  The doctor gave her some instructions on ways to help her stomach.  I hope that they will provide some relief for her.  He has a much better bedside manner than the other doctor had and I think he knows what he is doing.  The rest of the nurses were so great with Melissa.  I was happy that she was well taken care of.  Now I’m hoping that her stomach just starts feeling better.  I think I might need to see her doctor. I’ve been having stomach issues myself.  We shall see though.

After her procedure, we ventured to Starbucks because she was craving some hot coffee as was I.  We were happy that the red holiday cups were back.  They are so festive!  We were both hungry too so we decided to go to Whole Foods.  This time, I decided to try their sushi since I’ve heard good things about it.

Vegetarian Brown Rice Dragon Roll

This dragon roll was amazing!!!  I really liked the avocado on the outside.  I never had brown rice sushi before either and I loved it with the brown rice.  This roll had cucumber, carrot, and lettuce in it.  It was delicious!  I was very happy with my lunch choice.  Do you like sushi?  What is your favorite kind?  I usually stick to vegetarian rolls or rolls that have shrimp or crab in it.  I will not eat anything raw.  I’m not a huge fish fan.  I am very picky with what types of fish I’ll eat.

Melissa and I got some amazing deals on some items at Whole Foods.  Melissa matched up sales to coupons and we both ended up getting some great things.  I was pretty happy about that!  That store has some great customer service too!  I love shopping at stores that provide good customer service.

I’m happy to say that I got my glasses fixed!!  Yay!  I can finally wear them and I am loving them.  We ran some errands the rest of the afternoon and then we ventured back to Melissa and my mom’s house.  I was immediately greeted by Oliver.  I figured I would take some pictures of him with his little conehead hat on.  His paw is healing really nicely!  I’m glad about that.

Aw, such a sleepy puppy :)

Oliver and I!

Oliver and his stylish conehead!

After hanging out for a little bit, I decided to get home.  I made Mike and I Perdue Chicken cutlets again and roasted vegetables.  I also roasted some Yukon Gold potatoes and get this PURPLE potatoes that I found at Whole Foods!  Yes, you heard me, purple potatoes!!!!  I was in heaven because as you know, purple is my favorite color in the world!!!

My dinner plate

Purple Potatoes!!

Look how pretty!

I loved the color so much! The potato wasn’t that great.  I wouldn’t buy it again but I loved the color!  The Yukon Gold’s were amazing!  I don’t think I ever had them before and they were on sale so that is the only reason I bought them.  They were so buttery and creamy tasting.  I’m glad that I saved 2 big ones because I see baked potatoes in our future.  Delicious!  Have you ever seen a purple potato before?  Do you have a favorite type of potato?

Time to get going.  Have a GREAT Friday!!  :)

    • Thank you! I’m glad that my sister is feeling well too. :) I hear ya. I usually eat the same thing everyday for breakfast too. I’m boring like that ;) I agree. I hope he can take his cone hat off soon.

  1. I know I say this every time you post his picture, but Oliver is SO CUTE! Glad he’s doing better – and also glad that everything went well for Melissa yesterday. I hope she gets some answers soon and starts feeling better.

Have the best time with your bridesmaids this weekend! It must be so exciting to watch them all try on dresses for the first time :)
