I Can See Clearly Now, The Rain Is Gone…

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday!  I can’t believe it’s Thursday already.  This week has flown by!  I’m not quite sure why but it has.  That is fine by me!  I think it’s because I’ve been busy at work lately.  So that is always a good thing.  As I mentioned before, I have off from work today.  I’m taking Melissa to get a procedure done so they can figure out what is causing her stomach issues.  I’m nervous for her but I know that she will be alright.  I’ll be sitting and waiting for her when she is done.  I hope that she feels alright after.

So yesterday when I got home from work, I decided to relax on the sofa snuggled up next to my space heater with my favorite pink snuggie.  I finally caught up on so many tv shows that I have been behind on!  I caught up on The Secret Circle, Pan Am, and Once Upon A Time.  My DVR is clear except for the two shows that I taped last night before I went to bed.  Yay!  Although, with a clear dvr that gives me nothing to watch.  Gr!  I’m sure it will be full again soon enough.  I’m really liking that new show Once Upon A Time.  Have you seen it?  I really like that it’s about fairytales.  As you know, I am obsessed with Disney and all of those whimsical type of things so I’m really liking it.  It’s almost like a movie as opposed to a tv show.  It’s different and I like that.

For dinner, we decided to make the Newman’s Own Roasted Vegetable Thin & Crispy pizza that I received from the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program the other day.

Vegetable Pizza

Mike of course added pepperoni to his side.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen him eat a pizza that didn’t have pepperoni on it!

Closer look at a slice of the pizza

I liked that the pizza was thin and crispy.  I didn’t really care for the pizza in general.  I like the vegetables on the pizza and I thought it would be a good idea to add vegetables to homemade pizza.  I just didn’t like this pizza all that much.  It’s expensive in the store too.  If I didn’t have a coupon for it, I’m not sure I would have actually paid for it.  I wouldn’t purchase it again.  Do you like frozen pizza or do you prefer to make your own?  Fave kind of pizza?

I’m not a huge fan of frozen pizza anymore. It just doesn’t do it for me.  It doesn’t have that fluffy texture like say a Pillsbury pizza dough gives you and I like that.  I definitely want to try making my own pizza dough.  I keep saying that and then I never try it.  I’m going to make that a goal within the next couple of weeks to make my own dough and pizza from scratch!

The other day, I mentioned that I finally got my new pair of glasses!  Sadly, I haven’t been able to wear them because the woman who was trying to “adjust” them to my face was a complete idiot!  I don’t know what she did but she stretched them SO big.  They completely fall off my face.  Mike tried them on and they fell of his face too!  So needless to say, I’m thinking about stopping at an eye glass store later today to have them adjusted.  I want to wear them so I can get used to my new prescription and I can’t.  It’s frustrating!

My new eyeglass case!

My new Coach eyeglasses

Back side of the glasses (look there is purple!)

Stylin'! (don't judge, this was taken at 6am..so tired)

I love them!  I cannot wait to wear them.  Perhaps, I will wear them outside the house?  ;)  I’m not sure about that just yet.  I prefer to wear my contacts.  Do you have vision correction?  Do you wear contacts or glasses?  Which do you prefer?

I’ve had bad eyes ever since I was little.  I remember my friend in elementary school got glasses and I thought she was so cool.  This is bad what I am going to say but I seriously think I ruined my eyes by doing this.  I had a nightlight right by my bed and I would read books by the nightlight at night and squint so I could have glasses too.  I really think unfortunately, it worked.  I didn’t want to wear glasses though. So I would walk around squinting all of the time.

I eventually got glasses but I would never want to wear them.  I finally decided when I was 12, I think to get contacts.  It took a lot of getting used to but it was a world of difference being able to see without glasses.  I am so mad that I did that to my eyes.  I hate waking up in the middle of the night and not even being able to see my alarm clock.  It’s frustrating but that is how it is.  I am just thankful that I am able to see perfectly with contacts and glasses.    I don’t know what I would do without them.

Alright, I should probably get going now.  I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!  One more day till the weekend!  :)

  1. Cute glasses! They look great :) Fingers crossed you can get them re-adjusted soon, so you’ll be able to actually wear them and get used to the prescription.

How long did it take you to adjust to contacts? I wear glasses for distance – have since I was nine – and even though I’d love contacts instead, the idea just makes me so squeamish. Is it tough to put them in and take them out?

    • Thank you so much! :) I actually got them fixed today. I’m so excited to be wearing them! I’m really liking them plus I can see super clear! Yay!

Hmm..I think it took a few days to adjust to wearing contacts. I can’t remember exactly because I got them such a long time ago. My glasses/contacts are for distance too. I was the SAME exact way with contacts! I was so bad that I couldn’t even put eye drops in my own eyes. My mom had to do it. Finally, I got so fed up with my glasses that I pushed myself to just touch my eye and put the contacts in. It’s not tough at all. At first you might have some difficulty just because it’s going to be a weird feeling touching your eye and having something sit on them. After you wear them for a while, you won’t even notice they are there. I promise you! Taking them out is super easy! All you do is drag them towards the bottom of your eye and they will come right out. You just need to be careful. When I see people pinch their contacts in the middle to take them out of their eyes, I get nervous. That is how you can rip them. I always just drag them towards the bottom of my eye to take them out. Someone will usually sit with you for as long as you need to teach you how to put in contacts and take them out. It just takes some getting used to. You should try it! :) Let me know if you have any other questions about it. I can definitely try to help anyway that I can!! :)

  2. I’m diggin the glasses. Too bad they made them too huge for you!
I wore glasses for two years and when I went back to get my eyes checked they told me my vision improved and I didn’t need them anymore. I was bummed because I had wanted glasses since I was a kid and I loved the way my face looked in glasses. I only tried contacts once and they felt sooo weird in my eyes. I don’t know how you do it!

    • Thank you so much! :)

You are so lucky that you don’t need glasses anymore! I would kill for that. I think contacts felt weird at first. It does take a while to get used to them. I’ve been wearing them for so many years, I don’t even notice it anymore.
