Hi there! Happy Sunday. I don’t know about you but I’m sad that it’s Sunday. Why you ask? Back to work tomorrow! I’m not looking forward to it. Work is super stressful lately. I’m not liking it as much as I used to. Hopefully things will change soon. That is all I keep saying. I try to remember this quote when things get bad, “this too, shall pass.” Melissa told me that quote a really long time ago and it has always stuck with me. It’s true. Most of the time, bad things will pass and good will come. It helps if you think positively too.
So let’s talk about this snow yesterday! Crazy, huh? The news said that the snow wasn’t going to start until 3pm-5pm. Well, they were way off! It started snowing around 11am, when I posted my blog entry yesterday. It didn’t stop all day. There were really huge flakes coming down and it was wet snow. It makes it very hard to shovel and walk in. It’s very slushy and just an all around mess. They said on the news that if it was January and the ground was a lot colder, this would have been a massive storm with several feet of snow. I believe it!
Mike and I decided to go out of the house for a little bit because we had some errands to run. We ventured to Kohl’s, Dicks Sporting Goods, Famous Footwear and Target.
I was so excited in Target because two of the items I had been searching for were there! Get this, one of the items was on clearance and the other one was on sale! It made for a great deal! It was International Delight Pumpkin Pie Creamer.
I had been searching for pumpkin creamer for weeks now. Every time I found it in the store, it was super expensive. I am not a huge fan of liquid creamers so usually buying them is a waste for me. Mike is more apt to use liquid creamer than I. I usually sick with the powdered Coffeemate. I don’t use that much creamer to begin with. I like my coffee pretty dark. But when I heard about pumpkin creamer, I needed it. It’s actually pretty good but it’s slightly too sweet for me. It doesn’t have a strong pumpkin flavor either. I’m using a little bit of it but I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for it. Do you like flavored creamer? How do you take your coffee?
Another item I had been searching for were Pumpkin Pie Pop-tarts! Well guess what?
Now Pop-Tarts are not the healthiest thing by all means but I believe that you should be able to treat yourself. I was super excited when I found these! As soon as we got home, Mike and I split a package of them. They were amazing! We put them in the microwave for 15 seconds and it tasted like warm pumpkin pie! I loved them. Yum!
We hung around the house for a while and watched tv. One of my new favorite shows that we keep dvring is actually on Country Music Television. Why it is on this channel, I haven’t a clue. It’s called Top Secret Recipe.
The show is about a food hacker named Todd Wilbur. He is known for taking famous top-secret recipes from restaurants and various food products and trying to recreate them. I think it’s an awesome concept! So far on the show he has tried to recreate KFC Chicken, the Bloomin’ Onion from Outback Steakhouse, Cinnamon Buns from Cinnabon, and Dominos Pizza. It’s interesting to see the steps that he takes to recreate these recipes. Plus, you learn about the companies that he is trying to recreate the recipes from. I highly recommend the show! He also has cookbooks out with the recipes that he has hacked or you can check out his website which I linked to above. Do you watch this show? What recipe would you like to recreate from a restaurant if you could?
After watching the new episode from this show, we decided to go out to dinner. Our restaurant of choice was Arirang. We haven’t been there in a long time. I had a coupon to use there too. So we decided to take our chances on the road. We probably shouldn’t have gone out because the roads were pretty bad. The restaurant was empty so at least the food was great and we had good service.
The food was delicious as always. I am a huge fan of that restaurant. They do such a good job with their food. I love that southwestern roll. It’s the best of both worlds. It’s almost like Mexican sushi! So good.
After dinner, we went home and watched tv for a little before falling asleep around 10:45pm. Yeah, I’m such a party animal, I know. Haha.
This morning, I woke up and made myself a pretty decent breakfast. I made two sunny-side up eggs seasoned with garlic salt. Oh, my lord! If you haven’t seasoned your eggs with garlic salt, you haven’t lived! This was delicious! I also had a pumpkin bagel with pumpkin cream cheese on the side followed by pumpkin coffee with pumpkin creamer. Whew, that was a mouth full of pumpkin!
Now, I need to get myself together so that I can get to the supermarket to stock up for the week. I hope you have a lovely Sunday! :) Keep warm!
