Hi there! It’s finally Friday!! Wahoo! I am so glad that this week is over! Although, I’m getting nervous about tomorrow! Did you hear we are supposed to get some snow? I’m hoping it’s not a lot. They are saying that it might be a lot of wet snow which is going to weigh down branches on trees. In return, could cause the power to go out. I pray that doesn’t happen! It was awful when we sat in the dark for the entire day after the hurricane. I’m trying to think positive. It’s too early for me for snow. We have to get through Halloween first and then we can have snow! Do you like snow? What are you doing this weekend? Anything exciting planned for Halloween?
So yesterday after work, I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house to pick up Melissa and Oliver. Oliver had a checkup appointment at the vet. He was pretty bad in the car because I think he was really nervous. The last time he went in the car he got tortured at the vet with his paw. So I think he thought the same thing was going to happen. We got there early and they took us super late. That resulted in Oliver pacing around the room, climbing up my legs, jumping on Melissa and I. He was so scared but we were trying to calm him down as best as we could.
The vet said Oliver’s paw looks like it’s healing. There is still a bump on his paw but the doctor is thinking that it’s so irritated from his obsessive licking and biting that it should go down. He is going to continue to take medicine and wear his cone head so that he doesn’t lick it again. We are supposed to monitor the bump and make sure it doesn’t get bigger. If it does than they are going to have to do further testing. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying for him. I think that he will be okay. He is such a strong pup! He was so happy on his car ride home! He was much more relaxed and was being a good boy. I think he must have felt so excited that he didn’t get tortured this time.
I went home after the vet and started on dinner. We had rotisserie chicken leftover from the other night and I roasted vegetables and some potatoes. These are the potatoes that I used:
I said that I wasn’t a fan yesterday but the taste is growing on me. I actually ended up liking it. I think it’s because I made them extra crispy!
So a couple of weeks ago, I did a post about some of my September favorites. I now I wanted to talk about some additional things that I am loving as we head towards the end of October.
I have been in love with the Leaves scented candle from Bath & Body Works. The description refers to it as having autumn notes of golden nectar, juicy mandarin, and red delicious apple paired with toasted cinnamon stick, mulled cider spices and freshly harvested red berries.
I would have to say that I couldn’t have made a better description of the candle if I tried to myself. Bath & Body Works was exactly right! The candle does smell like cinnamon and apples, and mulled cider! It’s amazing. It fills up the entire house with such a comforting scent. I love it. I recommend it if you like scents like that in your house.
These are my favorite Hershey Kisses this time of year. They really do taste like pumpkin pie in the middle. I love them! They are the perfect snack! If you like pumpkin, definitely try them quick before they are gone! I found them at Target.
I am in love with OPI nail polish to begin with. However, my favorite color as of lately is most definitely Lincoln Park After Dark. I love wearing really dark colors in the fall/winter. This color is so dark that is almost looks black but it’s definitely not black. I really like it.
As an afternoon snack at work, I’ve been liking Quaker Granola Bites in Peanut Butter. They are the perfect size snack and they are only 90 calories. They are super cute and they have the perfect peanut butter flavor. They give you that slight bite of crunch that you might be craving in the afternoon too. They are good to have on hand.
I really like Musselman’s Lite Cinnamon Applesauce. They come in a pack of 6 of them and they make for a great snack. I’ve always been a fan of applesauce ever since I was little. I’ve always been drawn to the cinnamon flavor of applesauce. I just like it so much. I love the small snack packs because they don’t even need to be refrigerated and it’s great to eat on the go as long as you have a spoon!
My last favorite is Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Schoolbook Cookies. First off, they are so cute because you can spell your name out or whatever you want to spell before you eat them. ;) They taste like cinnamon and they aren’t too bad for you. I think they are a good snack choice.
So those are some things besides the ones I mentioned at the end of last month that I have been loving lately. Do you like anything that I mentioned? What is something that you have been loving this month?
I’m excited for tonight! Melissa and I are going out to dinner at Seasons 52! I cannot even remember the last time I went to one. I’m loving that they have their fall menu out now. All I know is that a glass of wine and a pumpkin pie mini dessert is calling my name! Please let this day go by quick! Have a Happy Friday!
