A Pizza Filled Sunday…

Hi there!  We made it to another week.  Let’s hope this one is quicker than last week.  I felt like last week went on forever.  I hate long weeks like that.  So my weekend didn’t turn out as planned as I have mentioned before.  That is okay.  At least I got to sleep in on Saturday and relax a bit yesterday.

Yesterday after I posted, I spent some time trying to catch up on a few shows on my dvr.  I still have a ton to get through but at least I was able to watch a few.  I did some couponing plans, although I haven’t really seen any good deals lately.  I need to regroup with Melissa because for some reason I am just not getting good deals lately.  I need her help for sure.

I finally decided to get ready around 2pm and then Mike and I went to BJ’s Warehouse to get a few things and then to ShopRite to do some grocery shopping.  We didn’t really get any amazing deals.  I did like that they had Quaker snack products on sale for $1.88. So we definitely took advantage of that.  I like their Granola Bites and Granola Bars.  They are great for snacking since they have between 80-100 calories.  It makes for a great mid-day snack while I’m sitting at my desk at work.

As I have mentioned before, I am lactose intolerant.  So as of lately I was using a lot of soy milk.  I hate milk in general.  So you won’t ever catch me drinking a glass.  I do like it in cereal and I use it for cooking if something requires milk.  I used to only use lactose-free milk and then I decided to use soy.  Well, I am back to using lactose-free.  For some reason the soy expires SO quickly and it’s been having a really strange taste that I just don’t like anymore.  So I’m switching back to lactose-free milk and I’m definitely happy about it. I’m ready for good tasting milk again.  Do you drink a lot of milk?  What type of milk do you prefer to drink?  Are you into soy, almond, or coconut milks?

After shopping, we came home and watched some tv for a bit while Mike did laundry.  He prefers to do our laundry and I have to say that I don’t mind.  :)  Before we knew it, it was time to start on dinner.  I really wanted pizza.  So at the store, I picked up a Pillsbury Pizza Dough and I had a  Ragu Pizza Sauce that we got from Target last week for like 80 cents on sale!

It’s been a while since we had the Pillsbury Pizza Crust and after eating it yesterday, I have to say that I missed it!  We had been eating Trader Joe’s pizza dough for a while and you can definitely taste the difference.  I think I like that Pillsbury makes the pizza more fluffy!  I like the way that the dough tastes better too.  I think we are probably going to stick to the Pillsbury crust for a while even though the TJ is cheaper.  I would eventually like to make my own pizza dough.  I don’t think it’s that hard and it would be so rewarding to actually have made the pizza dough that we are eating.  Do you make your own pizza dough or buy dough from the store?

I’m leaving work a half hour earlier today because I have an eye doctor appointment.  I am way over due of my annual appointment.  It’s been well over a year since my eyes have been examined.  I’ve run out of my contacts too.  I’ve been bad.  I think I’ve been wearing the current pair in my eyes for several months now.  Whoops.  ;)  I’ve also been having trouble seeing.  So I think I’m going to need a stronger prescription.  I definitely need a new prescription in my glasses, which you will probably never catch me in, in public.  I usually only wear my glasses around the house.  I’m a little nervous because I’m afraid they are going to dilate my eyes and I won’t be able to see.  I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’d much rather go to the eye doctor as opposed to some other doctors!  That is for sure.

Alright, well enjoy your Monday!  I hope it’s a great day!  :)

  1. It always used to drive me crazy when they’d dilate my eyes at the doctor, but my new one uses this awesome laser machine instead. You just look into the machine and it snaps a picture of the back of your eyes. SO much better than drops!!

Hope this week is much better than last for you :)

  2. I love getting pizza dough from my favorite pizzeria by my house. They make the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, and their dough is fluffy and delicious. Not to mention it’s cheaper than the pilsbury dough!

I’ve started buying almond milk lately and I like it. Munchkin has to drink full fat milk and every time I buy skim milk for myself it ends up going bad. Almond milk keeps for a lot longer and is pretty tasty.

I used to wear glasses, but after two year I got my eyes rechecked and they told me I no longer need to wear them. I do miss wearing glasses though.

    • That is a good idea! I never though to go to a local pizzeria for dough. I’m going to have to try that. I bet it is a lot cheaper. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I’m going to have to try Almond. It seems like everyone likes it.

You are lucky! I’d give anything to have good vision!

  3. I’m an almond milk girl all the way. I have the vanilla flavor for every day like oatmeal and smoothies and I have the unflavored/unsweetened almond milk for cooking and using it for recipes that require milk.

I also like using coconut milk but I use that less often because it’s expensive.

hmmm…thanks for writing about the pizza dough. I didn’t think the ones that comes in a tube can get fluffy like that. That’s good to know.

  4. I’m lactose intolerant too and I’ve been drinking almond milk for the past few years. Soy really isn’t my favorite either. I like Almond Breeze Unsweetened Plain or Vanilla almond milk for cereal and stuff. I just tried Silk Pure Almond Dark Chocolate and it is reaaallllly good! I can drink it plain or heat it up for hot chocolate.

    • I’ll have to try almond milk. It sounds good. Oh, and that almond dark chocolate milk sounds amazing! I am going to have to buy it the next time I’m at the supermarket. Thanks for the suggestions :)

  5. Pizza dough isn’t hard at all! And it tastes soooooo yummy. I’ll send you my recipe some day!

Along with the mac and cheese…

    …and pumpkin french toast…

Wow I owe you a lot! ha

  6. I am an almond milk girl, myself. :) I haven’t had actual milk in… wow, I don’t even know. Maybe 4 years? Anyway, I also like soy milk and I like to make ice cream out of coconut milk, but almond is my favorite overall! :)

We make our own pizza crust, but I have had the Pillsbury one and it is very tasty. The fluffiness of it is pretty great. We tend to like a really thin, crispy crust so we use our family recipe for focaccia bread and roll it out super thin for pizza crust. Yum yum! :)
