Wedding Talk Wednesday: The Veil…

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  Wednesday is becoming one of my favorite days of the week only because I get to discuss wedding related things on my blog.  It’s fun having something to look forward to writing about.  I just hope that I will be able to come up with enough topics to keep this going until my wedding, which is 10 months away!  We are almost hitting the single digit months!  It’s going to fly by so quick, I know it.  I still have so much to do!

Anyway before we get to the wedding related things, let’s talk about my delicious dinner last night.  I didn’t feel like cooking a gourmet dinner so I warmed up two Baked Perdue Breaded Chicken Cutlets, Italian Style for Mike and I.  I like that these are baked and not fried.  Each cutlet of this variety contains 170 calories, which isn’t bad at all.  These are my go-to’s when I don’t know what to make for dinner or I don’t really feel like cooking.  I highly recommend them.  I also roasted some veggies and I was in the mood for something comforting to end my stressful day.  What is comforting to me?  Macaroni and Cheese, especially when it’s from Kraft.  I cannot get a good recipe for macaroni and cheese for the life of me.  So I stick with Kraft because I like it.  If you have a good macaroni and cheese recipe, please feel free to share with me!  :)

I love the Kraft Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese. It tastes homemade and it comes with a little pouch of breadcrumbs to sprinkle on top of the macaroni and cheese to brown in the oven.

I know I will be going backwards here but I wanted to talk about my actual dinner first before I talk about my salad.  I was selected by the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program to receive a free coupon to try Marzetti Simply Dressed Salad Dressing.  Marzetti Simply Dressed Salad Dressings are made with minimal numbers of all-natural ingredients, such as: extra virgin olive oil, canola oil, and sea salt.  It does not contain any preservatives, trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, MSG or artificial flavors or colors.  Simply Dressed comes in 10 varieties of dressings.

When browsing the supermarket with my coupon in hand, I approached the cooler containing the Simply Dressed Salad Dressing.  You will find the dressing usually by the bags of salads in a cooler.  A flavor of the dressing kept sticking out at me.  It was the Champagne Salad Dressing.

For my salad, I decided to use organically grown Romaine lettuce as a base.

Honestly, this was one of the best salad dressings I ever had!  It was light but had a ton of flavor.  It actually did have that Champagne like tang to it!  I really enjoyed it.  My only complaint was that the container is super hard to open!  I couldn’t get the lid off and then when I did you have to peel back a covering and it took me a while to get it off.  Other than that, I really enjoyed this dressing.  I think the bottle design is simply yet classy too.  I would totally buy this dressing again!  What is your favorite type of salad dressing?  Thank you Foodbuzz & Marzetti for allowing me to try this product!

Now, the moment you have been waiting for..Wedding Talk Wednesday: The Veil!  Today I am going to discuss veil options.  I know not every bride wants to wear a veil on their wedding day and that is perfectly okay.  I have bought my veil and since Mike reads my blog, I am not going to post what type of veil I have purchased to wear.  I do have to say I love it!  I am going to hold you in suspense until after my wedding and then I will show you pictures.

Do you see any veils that you like?  What type of veil would you want to wear for your wedding?  If you are married, what veil did you wear?

Veils usually have a comb attached to them so they can be placed anywhere on your head in your hair and it’s easily removable and adjustable.  A lot of brides will wear tiara’s with their veil.

I think a veil looks beautiful whether it has a tiara or not.  Again, I’m not going to give away any secrets here!  Sorry!  What do you think of a tiara?  Yes or no?

Another thing, is deciding whether or not you wear the veil to your reception.  I have done some thinking about this and I personally would like to wear it for pictures and the ceremony and I think while I’m bustling my dress before the reception, I would take it off.  I feel like it would be too much and it would be annoying.  Plus, in reception pictures, I am a fan of how the bride looks just with the dress and not the veil.  What is your opinion of this?

  1. My favorite length of veil is the fingertip veil. I also love the look of a birdcage. I would like to have a tiara attached to my veil, but something small and delicate.

    I would wear the veil to the entrance to the reception, but I’d probably like to take it off because it gets in the way of dancing.

    That champagne dressing sounds yummy. I’ll have to look for it next time I’m grocery shopping. I love drinking champagne. It makes me feel fancy. Haha

    • The fingertip veil is a pretty length and tiaras are pretty. Very princess like :)

      Aw! Haha..I had wedding fever for such a long time. I still have to pinch myself and remind myself that this real. I still don’t feel like it’s real yet.

  2. I had the elbow length veil…didn’t even know that’s what it is called, lol! I just picked it.

    I originally wanted to wear it only for the ceremony and not the reception but it stayed on all night fine and I was just glad it didn’t catch on fire when the surprise fire dances came.

  3. Ahhhh I haven’t even thought about what type of veil I want yet! I guess once I pick out the dress, I’ll decide. I’m going dress shopping next month and I’m super excited about it. My go-to mac and cheese recipe is Giada DeLaurentis’ Italian mac and cheese. It uses egg noodles and is so delicious!

    • That is exciting! I had an idea of what type of veil I wanted and then I tried it on with my dress and I didn’t like the look. I ended up going with a different veil that I absolutely love.
