A Godiva Inspired Saturday Morning…

Good Morning!  Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  My weekend is going well.  The weather is quite beautiful outside today.  It looks like the perfect fall day out there. It’s nice and sunny with a cool breeze.  I cannot wait to go out there in my uggs and enjoy the day!  :)

I haven’t mentioned this on my blog but this week was one of the most stressful and emotionally draining weeks I’ve had in a long time because of work.  A new head of my department started on Monday and ever since then everything has changed.  He is making new rules, reprimanding people for things that they have done for years.  The vibe has completely changed.  It’s becoming very uncomfortable to be at work.  I’m hoping that things will change for the better but I am not so sure.  I’ve been with my company for just about 5 years.  It’s hard to see things completely change over the course of one week.  Everyone I work with is stressed and really upset.  I’m hoping things turn around soon.

In other words, I have decided to quit the part-time job I picked up.  I decided that I wasn’t going to be making anything and what I would be making would go towards filling my car tank with gas since it was pretty far from my house.  I’m happy with my decision.  I will be trying to figure out what to do within the next couple of weeks.  Meanwhile, I’m trying not to be so stressed and be happy and thankful for the things and great people that I have in my life.

Let’s move on, shall we?  So last night when Mike got home from work, we decided to just go out to dinner to get out of the house.  We decided on Ruby Tuesday.  Apparently everyone else decided to go there too because it was packed!

We started off our meal with Spinach and Artichoke Dip.

Dip and Chips

For my meal, I decided on the Avocado Turkey burger with mashed cauliflower and roasted spaghetti squash. I have ordered this before but last night, the roll was hard as a brick and stale. The avocado was clearly not fresh because it was browned.  I was really disgusted by my meal.

My dinner

Normally, I speak up about my meals. I don’t know why I didn’t last night.  We paid money for good food and mine was anything but that.  Plus, the entire rest of the night I had really bad heartburn for some reason.  Speaking of which, I still have it.  This is why I enjoy eating dinner at home.   I know whatever I am using to cook is fresh and I know how it was prepared.  GR!

After dinner, we went over to Melissa and my mom’s house to visit.  We played with Oliver for a while and then Mike, Melissa and I decided to go to Fridays for drinks to end this wretched week.  Our waiter was clearly intoxicated or on something because he was acting like a crazy person.  He must have asked all us to repeat our drink orders like 2 times over.  Very odd.  In fact, the entire bar staff was acting like that.  It was just a strange experience.  I ordered the largest Sam Adams Oktoberfest that I could find.  I love that I could sit there and express my frustrations with work to my sister and my fiance.  In that moment, I felt so lucky to have those two in my life.  They truly love and support me and try to help me in any way possible.  I can’t express how thankful I am for the two of them.  :)

This morning, I started off my morning on the right foot!  Thanks to the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program and Godiva, I was able to start my morning with Pumpkin Spice Coffee!  I had no idea that Godiva even made coffee.

I love this Godiva Coffee bag!

Thanks Foodbuzz and Godiva, I was sent not only the Pumpkin Spice coffee but the Caramel Pecan Bark Coffee as well.

Godiva's two seasonal coffee's

$2 off coupon

If you would like your own $2 off coupon, you can visit this part of Godiva Coffee’s website and make sure your printer is ready to go.

These seasonal flavors are inspired by Godiva’s most popular chocolates and crafted with high quality, medium-roasted, 100% Arabica beans for a rich, smooth taste.  The Pumpkin Spice flavor is inspired by their fall truffle with creamy and delicious pumpkin spice ganache.  The Caramel Pecan Bark is inspired by their signature bark, it has a rich, smooth caramel and toasted pecan flavor with a creamy Godiva milk finish.

I have only tried the Pumpkin Spice coffee.  I have to say that I really liked it!  It had a strong and bold pumpkin spice flavor.  It was smooth and I could see myself drinking it every morning.  I cannot wait to try the Caramel Pecan Bark flavor!  I can only imagine how great that flavor tastes too.

My Saturday morning breakfast

Godiva Pumpkin Spice Coffee

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cream Cheese

I have to say that I actually like the Einstein Bagels pumpkin cream cheese better than this Trader Joe’s one.  I think the Einstein one has a lot more pumpkin flavoring.  The Godiva coffee went great with my pumpkin bagel with pumpkin cream cheese.  It was definitely a pumpkin filled morning!

Do you like flavored coffee?  Did you know that Godiva made coffee?

Alright, I’m going to finish up a few things and start my Saturday.  I have a lot of things to do around the house and some errands to run.  I better get to it.  Have a happy Saturday!  :)

Aw, well you can still try it and if you print out the $2 off coupon, it will make for a decent deal. :)

Thank you girlie! I hope you are doing well too <3

  2. The Godiva coffee is soo yummy! I’ve tried both and I totally love em. I have another Godiva coffee that tastes like creme brulee that is amazing as well.

I’ve never been to Ruby Tuesday’s! There’s one right by Tommy’s house in the Poconos, but we’ve never made it there yet.

Isn’t it great to have people in your life that you can vent to. Sometimes you just need to get it all out of your head to feel better, and beers always help too! I’m happy that you were able to get all your stresses off your chest.

    Have a great weekend!

    • That is awesome! I am definitely going to have to try the Caramel one. It sounds so good.

You definitely need to try it! The salad bar is great! :)

Yes, I totally agree with you. Thank you. It does help to vent.

      Thank you! You too!

  3. Yikes, it sounds like you had quite the difficult week. It’s always tough when someone new starts to head up a department, but when they change everything around in the course of a few short days … it has to be even worse. I hope things get better soon and everyone can go back to enjoying the workplace again!

    • It has been really difficult. Its making things very uncomfortable and unpleasant. I totally agree with you. It’s entirely too much especially for one week. I’m hoping someone speaks up and things change for the better. I hope so too. Thank you, Shari! :)

  4. Stay strong, my sister and friend. Things will improve; in the words of our beloved quote, – “This too shall pass.” Believe in yourself, trust in your abilities and realize how much you are loved, admired and respected. All the best is coming your way, I am sure of it. No matter what, I will always be here to support, encourage and love you. You’re never alone; we are in this together! I love you <33

    • Thank you, Melissa. I keep trying to remember that quote but it is so difficult. I hope so. Thank you so much for everything! I appreciate everything. Seriously. I am always here for you too!! I love you lots! <3 <3
