Good Morning! Happy Monday! I can hardly believe that it’s Monday already. I know some of you lucky people are off from work today for Columbus Day. You are so lucky. I wish I was still in bed sleeping instead of being at work. I got woken up in the middle of the night from hearing noises from upstairs. It was so loud. I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night. That was really frustrating. I just layed there staring at the ceiling for hours until I finally got up. Needless to say, I think I am going to need a lot of coffee this morning. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
I’ll take you back to Friday and catch you up on my life. I left work early so that I could get ready for our second round of engagement pictures. I was feeling super excited for these. I ended up wearing a gray 3/4 sleeve sweater, with skinny jeans tucked into black uggs. I wore my hair half up with a pouf in the front, and I did my own makeup. I was feeling comfortable and confident. Mike wore a black and gray striped long sleeve button down with jeans and black shoes. We matched perfectly. This is the look I wanted all long. The weather was absolutely perfect too. There was not a cloud in the sky. It was perfectly sunny and the temperatures were cool.
We had an amazing time. This is what I needed. I feel so confident with our wedding photographer. He is going to take incredible pictures! He knew exactly what I was going for with these pictures. He showed up some and let me tell you, I am SO happy and impressed by them! Once he posts a preview, I will definitely post pictures. I cannot wait to see them. I am truly happy with our decision with him as our wedding photographer.
After our pictures were over, we decided to get dinner quick because Mike wanted to be home for the disappointing Phillies game. We decided to go to Iron Hill Brewery.
I had no idea what to order for dinner. There were SO many options on the menu that looked good. I finally decided to order and pizza and for some odd reason I asked for broccoli on top. Strange, I know. ;)
The pizza was really good! I ordered their pumpkin beer and raspberry wheat beers over the course of the time we were there. Their beers were okay. They kind of left me feeling full and sick. The rest of the night I watched the Phillies game with Mike but unfortunately I started falling asleep around 9:30-10pm. Yeah, I actually went to bed around 10pm on a Friday night. I’m such a party animal. Not! Sadly, the Phillies lost.
Saturday morning when I woke up, I was feeling so nervous. I mentioned that I was going for orientation for a part-time job I picked up. I need to take on a second job because my full-time job cut back on overtime. So I need to pick up a second job to supplement the money that I am losing. The part-time job is about 20-25 minutes away from my house. The entire time I was sitting there in orientation, I kept getting second thoughts. By the time I drive there and come home from the job, I will have used my entire paycheck on gas. Luckily, the store isn’t even open yet so I can’t begin working there for at least two weeks.
I’m thinking of looking around and trying to get a different part-time job. I want to be happy doing a second job. I don’t want to feel miserable and have to drive so far. I’d rather work somewhere closer to my house since my full-time job is really far from my house. It’s way too much driving for me. So if you have any suggestions or anything, feel free to let me know. I am desperate.
After that ordeal, Mike and I got ready to go over to his Aunt’s house for dinner. It was nice being able to see his entire family again. We got lots of questions asked about our wedding. I don’t mind at all. I just don’t want to give away a lot of information because I want a lot of things to be a surprise. I’m trying to go for the “wow factor” with our wedding. So I’m keeping things a secret. His aunt only had fish out for dinner. Since Mike and I don’t eat fish, there really wasn’t much to eat. I made myself a cucumber, tomato and cheese sandwich on pumpernickel bread and had a few cookies. We were still hungry once everyone left, so we decided to go to Fridays. We just got two appetizers and I had a Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Best part of the night? The bartender said if I ordered the beer in a certain size he would let me keep the glass. Let me tell you, I love funky shaped plates, glasses, etc. If I see some kind of cool glass or mug or something of that nature, I need to have it. So I was in heaven when he said that I could keep the glass! It’s a pretty cool Sam Adams glass. I forgot to take a picture of it but I will post one eventually. :)
On Sunday, I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house. We hung out at their house for a little while and then we went out to run some errands. We went to Target, Kohl’s, and ShopRite. I ended up spending more than I wanted to at ShopRite but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Plus, I bought a ton of items. I couponed as much as I can but I feel like I’m off my couponing game. I need help from Melissa. She is amazing at getting good deals.
I did finally purchase a product that I keep seeing commercials on tv for. It’s been expensive in the store but it was on sale and I had a coupon so I finally bought it!
The product is Bertolli Meal Soups for Two. You find them in the Frozen section of the supermarket. They have 4 varieties of the soup that you can try: Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken and Rotini Pasta, Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken, and Tuscan-Style Beef with Vegetables. I have not been contacted by Bertolli to review their product, I’m merely stating my own opinions.
We decided to try the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken.
All you do is empty the contents into a 2-quart pot and add 1 cup of water. You bring the soup to a boil and once it starts boiling, then bring it down to a simmer until the vegetables and pasta is cooked. It’s really quite simple.
I decided to roast some vegetables on the side as well as some garlic bread.
Mike was really hesitant in trying this. When I showed him the package and said it was soup, he didn’t think it was going to be filling. Let me tell you, we both kept saying, “mmm, this is so good,” the entire time we ate the soup! I’m not exaggerating when I say that this was one of the best soups I ever had in my life! It really was delicious. I kept thinking that this would be the perfect soup on a really cold and snowy day! It was filling too. I would totally buy this again, only if it’s on sale and I have a coupon because it is pretty expensive. You also need to remember though, that you are feeding two people with this soup or if it’s one person, it can probably last two days. So it might be worth it. Anyhow, definitely try it out! I loved it. :)
I enjoyed my soup with some of Bethenny Frankel’s Skinny Girl Sangria. I forgot to mention a couple of weeks ago, when I had my family over for dinner, I opened this drink. It’s actually really good!
I read on a tweet from Bethenny that they are going to be redesigning the bottle of the Skinny Girl Sangria. So if you have the one that I have, save it! It’s going to be a collector’s item.
What is your idea of the perfect comforting meal? Do you like any of the Skinny Girl drinks?
Alright time for me to get back to work now. Have a good Monday and for those of you who are off, have a great day off and I’m jealous! ;)
