A New Discovery…

Good Morning!  It’s Friday!  It’s quite the chilly Friday here in PA!  I’m really liking this fall-like temperatures we are having.  Yesterday it was raining for a portion of the day and then the temperature dropped like 25 degrees and by the time the evening came around, it was freezing!  I think the temperatures are supposed to stay around the 60’s for the majority of the weekend.  That is fine by me!  :)  I’d much rather be cold than hot.  If you are cold you can always add-on layers, if you are hot there really isn’t much that you can do.  Would you rather be cold or hot?  Did the temperature drop near you?

Yesterday after work, I picked up Melissa because we wanted to go out to dinner together and do some shopping.  We decided to go to Ruby Tuesday for dinner because we had a 25% off our purchase coupon that was expiring yesterday.  We haven’t been there in a while and it was time to go back!  Melissa ordered a delicious tasting cocktail!  It was a Skinny Pink Lemonade.  I opted for a Sam Adams Oktoberfest.  I have been wanting that beer and everywhere I’ve gone has been out of it.  Luckily, they had just added it on tap yesterday.  So I was happy about that.

Menu!

For my meal, I decided to start off with the salad bar.  I think that is a must when eating at Ruby Tuesday.  It’s too good to pass up.

For my entrée, I decided to order the Avocado Turkey burger minus the bacon.  The burger came with two sides.  I decided to go with the green beans and mashed cauliflower.  I had heard good things about mashed cauliflower but I had never tried it before.

Everything on my plate was delicious!  The mashed cauliflower was especially delicious!  I can’t believe it took me this long to finally try it.  I didn’t even miss the fact that it wasn’t mashed potatoes.  It was light and fluffy and it still had the same texture as mashed potatoes would.  I was really impressed by it.  The thing about the mashed cauliflower is that it doesn’t leave you feeling like you have a heavy weight in your stomach like mashed potatoes sometimes will do.  So I think my new project will be to make mashed cauliflower.  Hopefully I don’t need a food processor or anything of that nature to make it because we don’t have it.  Have you ever tried/made mashed cauliflower before?  I’m telling you, it will change your life if you try it!  ;)

After dinner, we went over to Trader Joe’s.  I had bought a dressing that I really didn’t like and I needed to return it.  We both ended up getting a few items.  I bought something that I have been wanting to try for a really long time now.  I’m hoping to make something with it this weekend.  Oh, and I still can’t find that coffee and chocolate grinder!  I’ve been seeing it pop up on lots of blogs and I am dying to try it.  I have gone to two Trader Joe’s and both of them have been sold out!  I hope it will come back in stock soon!

After TJ, we went to Target.  I found an awesome product that I am planning on eating for breakfast tomorrow.  I cannot wait to blog about it.  I hope it tastes as good as I’m thinking it will.  I also picked up a new toothpaste that just came out by Colgate.  I was intrigued by it.  It’s called Colgate Optic White Toothpaste.  Apparently, it contains the same ingredients that are in the White Strips.

I’m hoping that this works.  I would like my teeth to be a lot whiter than they are right now especially with my wedding coming up.  I’m hesitant to try the white strips because I’ve heard that it rips off the enamel on your teeth.  I have to be careful with my teeth because the last time I went to the dentist I had so many problems.  I’m debating whether or not to get Zoom Whitening like a month before the wedding.  I’d rather hold off on that because it’s so expensive!  Any ideas on how to whiten teeth?

After Target, we decided to head home because it was getting late and we were both freezing.  I had a fun night with Melissa.  :)

When I got home, I was absolutely exhausted.  I relaxed with Mike for like 20 minutes before deciding to go to sleep.  I’ve been so tired this week.  I can’t wait to catch up on some sleep this weekend.

What are you doing this weekend?  I don’t have any plans.  I was going to take part in a community yard sale that is going on in my development this weekend but I didn’t get everything together in enough time and I don’t think I have enough items to sell anyway.  I’m thinking of bringing some of my clothes to Plato’s Closet to see what I can get for them.  I could use some spending money especially since I want to start diy wedding items very soon.

Alright, time to wait for my free blueberry muffin.  Hopefully it will arrive soon!  Have a good Friday!  :)

  1. Right before my senior portraits in high school I used those crest whitning strips. They were brand new back then so I only did the top to see if I saw a difference – and I did!!!! They really worked. I’ve tried them since and they didn’t work as well; maybe because I bought the “gentle” kind, or because I didn’t do it diligently. But for 30 bucks, I’d try that first! Maybe try them now, for the hell of it.

  2. I’ve never had mashed cauliflower but it sounds delish! I’m not a huge fan of cooked cauliflower unless it’s steamed because the texture gets weird but mashed sounds like it sounds like it would be really good.

For teeth whitening I use the cheapo five minute whitening thing you can buy at walmart. It comes with a tray and gel that you use for five minutes a day. It works pretty well and doesn’t make my teeth super sensitive like the white strips did.

    • It definitely is really good! I know what you mean. I don’t think I’ve ever had fresh cauliflower. I’ve only had it steamed frozen.

Oh, okay. I’ll have to look for that and try it! Right now, I’m open to using anything as long as it will make my teeth white and not sensitive. :)

  3. I need to find a good teeth whitener too!
    I’d definitely rather be hot.
This weekend I’m going to an engagement party, watching lots of football, shopping and hopefully relaxing some!

  4. I love my dentist and he said I can do the whitening strips as much as I want (I like the Listerine ones and they are cheaper than Crest) but whitening toothpastes (especially Arm & Hammer) take off your enamel.

  5. I cannot use those evil strips, they make my teeth so sensitive. Wish I could though.
And I love this weather! Fall is one of the best parts about living in PA for sure. This weekend I am crafting and watching football.
Yes, I am an eclectic woman. But next weekend I’ll be at the Eagles/Giants game!! WOO HOO GO BIRDS!

    • That is what I am worried about the strips making my teeth sensitive.

      Me too! That’s awesome! :)

So jealous!! I’ve only been to a preseason Eagles game. I really want to go to one soon! It seems like it would be so much fun!! :)
