Wedding Dress Pick-Up & The Rest of the Weekend…

Good Morning!  Happy Monday!  It feels good to be typing a blog post today and saying that while sitting on the comfort of my sofa.  I’m glad that today I still have off today as I’m sure most of you have off today as well.  Happy Labor Day!  I’m planning on hopefully grilling some hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner.  I also want some corn on the cob.  I haven’t had much of it this summer.  So while summer is almost gone, I think I need some corn on the cob!  Anyway, let’s recap what I have been doing the last couple of days.

On Friday after updating my blog, Mike and I decided to go out to dinner.  I had bought a Living Social deal that I saw for our favorite sushi restaurant, Arirang.

We of course started off our meal with my favorite thing as of late, Edammae!

I ordered my usual coconut shrimp roll from there.  It’s so good!  I love that they drizzle a raspberry sauce on top.  It goes so well with the coconut shrimp flavor.  I love it.  Mike and I shared a side of their fried rice because their fried rice is the best!  It’s so good!

After dinner, we ventured to a new self-serve frozen yogurt place near us that was giving out FREE frozen yogurt!!!  It was awesome!  They were giving out free frozen yogurt because their official opening was on Saturday.  The frozen yogurt was amazing!  You better believe I filled my cup all the way to the top!  Mine would have cost almost $10 if I would have had to pay!  I couldn’t even finish it because I filled it up so much.  We saw my mom at the yogurt place too!  :)

The rest of the night, we just hung out and relaxed around the house.  On Saturday, I had a lot of errands that I wanted to get done but I received a text from my friend, Courtney asking if I wanted to hang out.  I said sure since we haven’t really seen much of each other lately.  I had a nice time catching up with her.  It’s been a while since we just sat down and talked and I think we needed that.  We have been friends for an extremely long time.  So it was good to catch up!

After hanging out with Courtney, Mike and I ventured to Target so that I could pick up a few things.  We decided that we were going to grill Flat Out Wraps and make pizza from them!  They are so good.  It turns into flatbread.  It’s crispy and a great alternative to regular pizza.

After enjoying our pizza, we went to Chickie and Pete’s for drinks with Melissa, Ryan (Mike’s brother), Mike and I.

Then yesterday was a big day!  As all of you remember, a few weeks ago I found my wedding dress!  Well little did I know that my dress and veil would come in so quickly since they had to order it.  I was hoping that they would store my dress at the store until I had my appointments with the bridesmaids to try their dresses but no such luck!  It’s a lot of driving back and forth to this David’s Bridal because it’s in Maple Shade, NJ.  It’s worth the drive though because the bridal consultant is really wonderful and the store is very nice!  It’s a lot nicer than our local store.  So I’m alright with the drive.

So I picked up Melissa and my mom and we went to David’s Bridal.  I couldn’t wait to see my dress again!  I put it on and I fell in love with it all over again.  Except I was really upset.  The entire bottom of the dress was  completely wrinkled.  I mean REALLY wrinkled.  I was talking to the consultant about it and she said that it’s completely normal for it to be like that.  They don’t press the dress because I need to bring it to alternations and it wouldn’t make sense for them to press the dress, only for it to get wrinkled again when they are completing the alterations.  She said that they will press my dress and veil at my last fitting appointment.

That made me feel a little better.  I’m still upset at how wrinkled it is especially since right now, it’s just sitting in my mom’s closet until April.  I have to wait until April to start the alterations process.  That is good though at least for me so that I have time to find the perfect undergarments to wear under the dress and I need to wait until my shoes come in.  I was able to make appointments for the bridesmaids to be fitted for their dress.

Melissa and my mom are going to get fitted at the end of this month and the other 3 bridesmaids are going to get fitted at the end of next month, hopefully!  I need to just confirm with them that the date is alright.  I’m having 4 total bridesmaids if you include Melissa who is my Maid of Honor.  I think that is the ideal number for me personally.  :)

After our adventures at David’s Bridal, we went to Whole Foods for some lunch, which I forgot to take a picture of.  I tried pizza from there for the first time and I loved it!  It was really good!  After Whole Foods, we went to the biggest Trader Joe’s that I have ever seen!  I got some really awesome things from there that I will most definitely be featuring on my blog soon!  Then we ran some errands local to our area.  I had a lot of fun with Melissa and my mom.  :)  I’m glad that I am so close with them.

After hanging out for a while, I ventured home.  Mike and I decided to make a Bird’s Eye Voila! Meal that Food Buzz had given me coupons for.

Birds Eye Voila! Chicken & Vegetables

The first thing that sold me on this item was the fact that it was said to taste like chicken pot pie!  I don’t know about you, but I am a big fan of chicken pot pie!  I couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to it’s claim!

Closer look at the Birds Eye Voila! Meal

Well, this meal tasted exactly like chicken pot pie!  I was SO impressed!  I would totally buy this again!  I am not a huge fan of frozen meals but every once in a while they are okay to eat.  I liked that it only took me 10 minutes to make this.  It was perfect for a day when you really don’t feel like cooking.  I loved this and so did Mike.  I think we will most definitely try this again in the future!

After dinner, we decided to get dessert!  I wanted pumpkin ice cream!  Yes!  I seriously love everything about the fall!  I am so excited for all of these pumpkin flavored things!  Now we just need the cool weather to follow!  Love it!

Alright well I’m gonna get going now so that I can start my day!  I need to venture to the supermarket.  Gotta do my coupon and ad match-ups to save money!

Before I go, I have questions!  Are you doing anything to celebrate Labor Day today?  Do you wear white after Labor Day?  What is something that you are looking forward to about the fall?

  1. Girl you are killing me!! I want to see pics of the dresses!!!!

  2. It must have been SUCH an exciting moment to pick up the dress. Does it make things feel even more real?!? :-)

Ooh, and where’s this new frozen yogurt place? I’m always looking for any that are in the area!!

    • It definitely does! Especially since I have the dress and veil in my possesion. It definitely feels real :)

It’s in Yardley. It’s called Red Berry. There is also another one in the center of Yardley. In addition to those two, there is Yapple Yogurt in Langhorne also! I love that all of these yogurt places are appearing. It’s awesome but dangerous for my wallet! ;)

      • I know what you mean! The self-serve idea is so smart, but it also leads to spending way more than you may have otherwise. I didn’t know there was a place in Langhorne! That’s not too far from me … I’ll definitely have to check it out. Thanks for all the info :)

      • It definitely does! I have a heavy hand and my frozen yogurt ends up costing me a fortune! You’re welcome! :) Let me know what you think!
