Good Morning! Happy Wednesday! What a crazy day yesterday was! As you know there was the earthquake. Well we most definitely felt it here in PA. That was crazy! I was sitting at my desk here at work, and all of sudden the entire building, the floor, and my desk started shaking. I immediately started to panic. I’m on the 4th floor of my building so I just kept thinking, I have to get out of here. Everyone in my department stood up and we all ran out the door as quick as we could. I have never been so scared in my life. At first, I thought it was just my building at work. Then I checked Twitter, and recieved text messages from Melissa and Mike to hear otherwise.
That had to be one of the scariest moments of my life. After the earthquake, I kept feeling like I was moving or shaking. I was feeling very uneasy the rest of the day. I hope to never experience that ever again! Did you experience the earthquake yesterday? What were you doing when it happened?
Last week I received coupons in the mail from being a part of the FoodBuzz Tastemaker’s Program and Bird’s Eye to try out one of their new Birds Eye Voila! meals. These meals contain Birds Eye veggies, proteins and grains. When I was at the store, I searched for one to try out and discovered the Alfredo Chicken meal.
The directions on the bag are quite simple to follow. You pour the contents of the bag into a skillet.

Contents of the bag in the skillet. You can see the block of sauce in the upper right hand corner beginning to melt.
I should mention after you pour the contents of the entire bag in the skillet, you add 1/3 cup of water so that the sauce blends together with the chicken, veggies, and pasta.
I would first start off by saying, thank you Foodbuzz and Birds Eye for allowing me to try out your product! I think this meal is great for the nights where you just don’t feel like cooking. It’s quick and simple to prepare. I believe it only took me around 15 minutes or less to prepare everything! It would be a great staple in the house to keep a few of these bags in the freezer. You never know when you might need something quick to prepare for dinner. It’s a much better option than ordering food. Although, I don’t eat bagged meals too often because of the sodium content and because I prefer to cook dinner. I think this is a good option to have. I wouldn’t be opposed to having it every once in a while.
The sauce was flavorful and there was plenty of it to coat the chicken and the vegetables. The chicken had great seasoning of paprika on it. The veggies were crisp and not sogg at all which is what I was afraid of. I love the Birds Eye frozen veggies and that is the same quailty that is in these Voila! Meals.
Do you enjoy eating frozen bagged meals or do you stick with meals that you prepare from scratch? Have a favorite frozen meal that I should try?
Alright, time to get back to work now folks. I hope you have a lovely day!
PS. My work has decided to change our overtime policy which is something that I depend on greatly. So I’m going to be looking for some part-time work. If anyone has any part-time connections in the Philly area, please shoot me an email! Thanks!

Great minds think alike, lol! Mom had a Voila meal for dinner last night, also! Hehe. Love you! <33
Haha! That is awesome!! Love you too! <3 <3
I’m sorry you were so scared! I guess being in a building would have made my experince totally different… I felt fairly safe being outside once I realized a tsunami wasn’t imminent! Glad you’re ok!
It’s okay.
Haha, you’re lucky! I would have much rather been at the beach.
Oh man, that must have been scary! Kinda glad I’ve never been through an earthquake.
It was really scary! You are lucky! I hope that was my first and last.
My department is on the top of three floors (we’re not very tall buildings) and when my desk was shaking I just sat there wondering what was going on. I thought maybe the construction workers ran into the front outside at first. Then when it stopped I walked into the hallway and one coworkers came out of his cube and said, “Whoa did anyone else feel that?” We all stood around like, “so… should we go outside?” We’re really good when it comes to analytical assays, not so much earthquake planning… apparently. LOL. Sorry you were scared!
Hahaha! That is funny! I don’t think anyone in this area knew what to do. I hope that never happens again!
after that blog title, i am going to have that song in my head all day! good thing i like it!
Haha! I’m glad you like it. After I posted it, I had the song stuck in my head all morning.
I felt the earthquake and it really freaked me out!
Yeah, it was really scary! I hope to never experience that again!
I didn’t feel a thing, but one of my friends is also vacationing here in Avalon – only a block away from me – and she felt it the whole time. So crazy!
Oh, wow! You are lucky that you didn’t feel anything. I would have prefered that. Haha. I hope you are having a great time!
