50 First Dates…

Hi there!  It’s the middle of the week!  Yay!  Only two work days left until the July 4th Holiday weekend!  Wahoo!  Today is my work building complex’s hot dog day.  They set up a huge tent outside in-between the office buildings and they have a ton of food and prizes set up.  There are hot dogs, along with some other typical foods you would see at a bbq.  So I’m pretty excited about that!  I like when I don’t have to think about what I am going to bring to work for lunch.  Plus, it’s free!  So you can’t beat that!

After work last night, Mike and I had to run to Best Buy.  Mike broke his phone while at work.  So he had to get a loaner cell phone while they attempt to fix his or give him a new one.  It took forever!  We were there for over 2 hours.  So annoying!  I browsed at some of the Verizon phones because I’m eligible for an upgrade.  I don’t think the girl at Best Buy knew what she was talking about.  I was under the impression that if you have Verizon and are eligible for an upgrade, they give you $100 off the cost of a new phone.  She said that wasn’t true.  So I think I’m gonna have to go to an actual Verizon store to see what is up.  Do any of you know?

After we finally left Best Buy, we went home and had the amazing leftover Shepard’s Pie that I made the other night for dinner.

Yummy Shepard's Pie

It even tasted better the next day.  It was such a comforting dish to come home to after sitting in a store for 2 hours.  I didn’t feel like roasting vegetables last night so I just ate the ones in the Shepard’s Pie along with a salad that went unpictured.  :)

The rest of the night, Mike and I relaxed and watched Pretty Little Liars.  I thought it was a good episode last night.

So today, I want to talk about first dates!  Have you ever seen the movie 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore?

Well if you haven’t seen the movie it’s about Drew Barrymore’s character who has a brain injury in which she can’t remember one day from the next.  So when she wakes up everyday, she thinks it’s the same day that she had her accident.  She does the same exact things every single day that she did the day of the accident.  Goes to the same places, wears the same clothes, visits the same people.  Her family goes along with it too.  They will make sure to do the same thing every single day for her.

Then Adam Sandler’s character comes along and starts talking to her and begins to like her.  So everyday is like their first date because he tries to get her to remember him.  It’s actually a cute movie.  It’s worth seeing.  That brings to me the topic of first dates.

What was the best first date that you have ever been on?  Or What is your idea of the perfect date?

The best first date I have ever been on was with Mike.  It wasn’t anything extravagant.  He picked me up from my dorm room and we went to Fridays for dinner.  I remember I was so nervous during the beginning of the date.  I had never been that nervous on a date before.  I could tell that Mike was nervous too.  That was my first sign in showing me that I actually really liked him. I had no clue what to order because I was nervous to eat in front of him. I could tell he was too.  We had a really good conversation.  Then we went back to his apartment and watched a Beautiful Mind.  On that date was when we had our first kiss.  :)   Although, it was such a simple date, it was definitely the best first date I ever had.

My dream date is to have a date like how they have on the Bachelorette or the Bachelor Shows.  I keep telling Mike that for our honeymoon I would love to go to an Island, preferably a Sandals resort.  I want for one night, to have the most romantic dinner for two on the beach.

Something that looks like that!  I think that would be the most romantic date.  :)

I can’t wait to hear your stories!  :)   Alright time for me to get back to work!  Have a good Wednesday!!  :)

  1. I went on a date with Scott to Pod on Penn’s Campus (Stephen Starr <3 )when we first started hanging out in college and I did my first saki bomb. So much fun. I never really went on any dates before that, lol.

Verizon discontinued their "New Every 2" program back in January, so I'm afraid the girl was correct. Sorry!

    • I’ve always wanted to go to Pod! I’ve heard that it’s good! Haha! That’s awesome! :)

Oh, grrr!! That really stinks. I guess I’ll try the Verizon store anyway to see what they can do. ;)

  2. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a really GREAT first date. But it’s been so long since I’ve had a “first date” that I really don’t remember! Haha. One of my favorite dates that my boyfriend and I went on back in college was on an October night and we walked to go eat dinner then walked to a movie (Harry Potter) and then got pumpkin cookies from Starbucks as dessert afterward. It was just starting to really cool down and we had just started dating so it was all so exciting and fun :)

I don’t know the answer to the Verizon question unfortunately :( But good luck!

  3. my first date with my hubby was really fun! We went to a bar on the water…talked & talked…then ate sushi and talked even more. Seems sooo long ago!
